Convert MKV to AVI for the DSM-510??? Simply download and use XviD4PSP 5.0 . It's free too. Works a treat!

yep, you've found the problem everyone comes across with one of these boxes. Basically it's only certain versions of Divx's it'll support. Rather that mucking about converting your Divx's to Xvid's, all you need is "Nic's Avic FourCC changer" (google it, it's free). Run it, point to your AVI and set...
