Re: Howto missing for upgrade Twonky Media Server
like DaemonBeetle I run TMS on a Linux server and definitely want a plan B if an update fails. What I do differently though, is that I unpack over the existing install after making a backup. That way my settings and caches are retained. e.g. when I updated from 6.0.37 to .38 # cd /usr/local/ # tar -...

Re: Get Satisfaction Support Community
hmm, another "we need a new tool" instance. questions: - has all the contect from the old forum been transferred to the new tool? - if yes can we please only have one URL/tool to check (while I really like TMS over other DLNA servers, there are only so many slices of my time I am willing to dedicate...

Re: Twonky 7 for Windows, Mac OS & Linux (PC) is Now Availab
"Not requiring a Licence key" means? A somewhat limited server - beside the login-issue? Will it work with current license - without the loginissue? That is: what do one risc substutiting the working v 6.0.37? The way I read Can I run TwonkyManager/TwonkyServer at the same time as Twonky 7.0? and I...

Re: Are You Happy With Your Philips Hardware?
I am happy with the hardware, way fewer lockups than my Roku Soundbridge used to experience (I doubt either device's lockups have anything to do with Twonky) On the software side, I am less happy than I was with my Roku. Running a linux-only network, I am yet to discover a decent remote control tool...

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.36 is now available for download!
As I'm sure you've noticed, the 6.0.36 builds of TwonkyServer Mac and Linux have not yet been posted on the download page. Some last minute issues related to the new WebDAV server we're discovered that need to be resolved. We'll post both to the download page ASAP. Sorry for the delay. Not to worry...

Still, thanks for the warning, I'd rather have a false alarm than a bricked deviceTMM_Product_Manager wrote:Bottom Line: This appears to be a false alarm.

Re: Warning: New WD TV Firmware Update May Be Bad
Is there a way that you can test push with a computer or mobile device? Not with a supported setup, the phone runs maemo5 and no Windows at hand. But, TMM work well enough under wine[1]. - Push of h264 works. (2,5 minutes running so far) - Push of mp3 works. (played one entire song) RU PCFE [1]for ...

Re: Warning: New WD TV Firmware Update May Be Bad
Hi Rick, I had already updated my WD TV Live before reading this thread, here are my findings; Part number: WDBAAP0000NBK Firmware: 1.04.31_V MP3 pull: works fine h264 pull: works fine I did not try other formats. If you want, I'll dig for more. It would seem your test device had a hiccup during upd...

RHEL 5 / CentOS 5 init script for TMS 5
While twonkymedia.sh included in the manual install tarball for linux works, I have started using the attached init script instead (mainly because I find it easier to read, if you are happy with twonkymedia.sh there is no need to use this) If you do use it, please provide feedback (both positive and...

Re: Finding out Playlist URLs for 4.3.x and 4.4.x
this seems to have changed in 5.1.2 does anyone happen to know what the transformation of the URL would be under 5.1.x? EDIT: Ah I was going about this wrong. All steps through Roku's remote. Correct steps are; 1) Browse 2) Browser Server Containers 3) Playlists 4) pick the playlist you want to save...

Re: How to install Twonky Server on Fedora 10, 11 or 12
Good howto, thanks. Works/etc/init.d/ on F12 x86_64 as expected. Some minor comments. you want to open port 9000, not 900. I presume it's a typo. you only need to open 9000 TCP (incoming connections to web UI. Fedora's default firewall allows outgoing connections, so for the streaming part we're goo...
