Re: TwonkyServer 7.0.8 NAS builds are now ready for download
Like Georg, I tried 7.0.8-special, but went back to 7.0.5 because of some bugs. Two that I could immediately spot: - Navigating into folders does not work. The config.js uses .innerText on line 2864. This is an IE only property. It gives an error on all other browsers. Therefore, browsing does not w...

Re: Twonky and Movie & TV Artwork not displaying
I've made a script for Twonky to automatically retrieve artwork for movies and tv series. See http://server.vijge.net/tw-video-scraper/ There is a special section on how to set this up under Windows. If you have any questions about using the script, post a comment on that site, and I'll try helping ...

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.39 thumbnails artwork on PS3 now workin
For avi films you must name the artwork using a jpg and as the name of the film. eg Moonraker.avi and Moonraker.jpg. If .... Shameless plugging of my own work, but for movies/series you could use my script, tw-video-scraper . It will retrieve the film poster/thumbnail from a serie's episode automat...

Re: tw-video-scraper: Download fanart thumbnail for video
The best solution is to use embedded posters in the files metadata I actually tend to disagree with that. First of all, when embedding media in the file, you have to embed it in every file. For a music album, this takes up extra space, and makes changing the art work less easy then just replacing a...

Re: tw-video-scraper: Download fanart thumbnail for video
I updated the script a little. It's now easier to set up under Windows, and works both with Python 2.7.x and Python 3.2.x. See my site or Github for instructions. At Github, you can download the latest version. If you haven't seen it, below two screen shots from the Flash browser with downloaded thu...

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.38 is Now Available for Download!
Thanks. The versions that I downloaded only listed the known issues - not the actual changes. Not sure why. I looked at the RevisionHistory.txt file for Linux and Windows builds. Should I be looking somewhere else? Not sure. I got them from the RevisionHistory.txt in the Kirkwood build, but I belie...

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.38 is Now Available for Download!
I see there's now a 6.0.39, but nothing on the forum or in the release note to advise what may have changed. :( Any info would be useful. Thanks. Changelog is in the download (when downloading a zip package): Release notes for TMS 6.0.3.9 ----------------------------- o adapted to latest DLNA certi...

Re: tw-video-scraper: Download fanart thumbnail for video
It was more or less written for my Debian/Linux server, so all the file location are set to the Linux defaults. My work laptop is Windows 7, so I just tried it, and could get it working. There is some editing of the files required. Sorry, not a one-click install for this one. Here are the the instru...

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.38 is Now Available for Download!
By usb port the Bravia plays all avi files (divx, Xvid...), but from my NAS WD My book World Edition (with Twonky Server 6.0.38) by DLNA play only mpg2 files. Sorry I did not express myself clearly. What I ment, was that in my case the Bravia does not recognize any format NOT in a mPeg2 container, ...

Re: WebDAV on Twonky Server 6.0.38 on Kirkwood
Maybe you could try it with a different webdav server. Webdav is webdav, so which product offers the server implementation shouldn't really matter. Most web server can support webdav. If you need a lightweight one, try lighttpd. If you're running Debian or Ubuntu, it is pretty easy to set up. Just i...

Re: New Feature Requests
It would be great if videos files can show a thumbnail That works already. You may need ffmpeg installed and configured (see the guides on Transcoding), but it already works for me with Twonky v6. Or have a look at a script ( tw-video-scraper ) I just released, to automatically retrieve screenshots...

tw-video-scraper: Download fanart thumbnail for video
In an earlier post I explained how to set up thumbnail generation using ffmpeg. However, one of the problems of using ffmpeg is that it takes a snapshot of the video file at a fixed time, for example at 30 seconds. For both movies and series this can be a problem. If there are opening credits, the t...

Re: Video Thumbnails on Samsung TV
I don't quite see why I need dtach, than just remove the -D...? Or is it just so that it doesn't show up constantly in putty and the like? According to the documentation on Twonky, transcoding does not work in daemon mode. Therefore you need to remove the -D flag. But like DaemonBeetle said, in a b...

Re: Video Thumbnails on Samsung TV
Hi, I've got almost the same setup, and got thumbnails fully working. The explanation is below. The equipment: - Samsung B650 (2009 series) - Sheevaplug with Debian 6.0 (squeeze), 1.2GHz ARM processor, 512 MB ram - Twonky Server 6.0.34 The basic setup: I followed the instruction in the zip file for ...

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.34 is Now Available!
For movies (cinema, TV) the offset time should be larger than 30 seconds to bypass "columbia pics" etc. otherwise the thumbnail wouldn't make sense. However a lot of the clips recorded with the digital camera are shorter than that time. In this case the ffmpeg-video-thumb.desc will return an empty ...

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.30 is Now Available!
I posted a separate thread for this problem, but I'll post it here too, to keep all 6.0.30 problems in one thread. I have a lot of Internet radio feeds. When using the web based file browser, a lot of these feeds give a "Not found" error by the the Twonky Web server. http://scfire-dtc-aa05.stream.ao...

Web radio feed give Not Found error
Hi, I have installed Twonky Server 6.0.30 kirkwood build. When accessing web radio feeds through the browser, Twonky gives a Not Found error page. Also, I noticed that Twonky rewrites some of the URL. For example, in a .m3u file, I have to following link: http://shoutcast.omroep.nl:8192/ When lookin...

Re: New Twonky release on Debian Lenny ARM ?
For anyone looking to install an ARM build of Twonky Media on Debian Lenny (5.0), here some information. The default build (Linux ARM little endian glibc 2.2.5) does not work on Lenny, because the glibc version is out of date. However, you can use the Kirkwood build. This is an ARM little endian bui...
