Re: Confused! Twokia Media 5.1.4-1 on WD Mybook 1 TB NAS dri
TwonkyMedia is the same as TwonkyServer (which I think got this new name since version 6). Version 5.1.4-1 is a quite old and buggy version of TwonkyServer (latest available for NAS at this time is version 6.0.39). TwonkyMedia is built-in with the NAS but unfortunately WD did not upgrade this OEM li...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
I am bit confused now, one post reads as if 6.0.30 fixed the FF REW issue on Samsung, just now I found another post it says it does not. Just so you know, the serviio streaming server I tested recently does support FF REW functionality. You keep the cursor right button pressed, it skips for a few s...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
@Schrumpel Hi, actually I did not notice the bug fix line in the RevisionHistory file before. After your tip I made some other checks and from a preliminary analysis i can tell that: 1) Twonky server is actually indexing also .srt files. I set a single shared folder with only an .avi file and the co...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
@Kamikaze I tried the MSS2 nas build 6.0.30 on my WD My Book World NAS and finally I also have MKVs working seamingless on my Samsung UE40C6500. I also confirm that the left and right arrow keys on the remote control actually works how you explained (keeping the key pressed causes a progressive incr...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
I have a C6000 and it works well enough for me (over DLNA of course). Low bitrate files will not rebuffer, just holding the direction key will skip ahead in ever bigger increments (first 10 seconds, then like 30, goes up to several minutes if you hold long enough). For hd content, the TV will start...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
They skip for more than 10 secs if you hold the key. I'd say they are actually more useful than reg ffwd/rev. @KamikaZee. Are you talking of files played from USB or DLNA? Since for files played from DLNA it does not work (at least on my C6500). The buttons on the remote control are actually workin...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
Hi! Is it very complicated to change TMS 5.0 to 6.0 on WD World? Could you give me (us ;) a hand with this ? Thanks in advance W. Sorry all for the off-topic (I will move the post in a separate thread ASAP). wstycula you can find a small tutorial on top of this post here: http://mybookworld.wikidot...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
I wanted to give everyone an update on the MKV compressed header playback problem issue. It appears this issue has been fixed in TwonkyServer 6.0.29. Since this version hasn't been released yet, you'll have to wait to test this, but I wanted to let everyone know about this. Thanks again to everyone...

Re: Twonky 5.16 and mkv
I had the same problem with my WD My Book World NAS since the latest WD firmware upgraded Twonky from 4.x to 5.1.4-1. Unfortunately looked like that the latest 5.x Twonky releases were affected by a bug that made files with .MKV extension to be added to Audio files instead of Video files list. This ...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
Yep finally tested version 6.0.28 for windows and all MKVs now work on my Samsung TV. Some further notes: - still no subtitle support :-( neither with external .srt file nor with embedded text stream (any news about this Rick?) - fast forward also working for MKVs but not very useful indeed since TV...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
Just saw that Twonky Server 6.0.28 for windows has been released. According to release notes the problem with MKVs should be fixed: Release notes for TMS 6.0.2.8 ----------------------------- ... -fixed: Add custom DLNA profile for MKV to improve interop with certain clients ... Just downloaded it a...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
We hope , that twonky fix the issue and we can play any mkvs in the future. If you have an MKV file that is not corrupted and will not play after you run mkclean, please let me know. There are many Samsung users that are playing MKV files everyday on 2010 TVs without problems. If you look back on t...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
You're welcome Rick for the files. I just want to say that "mkclean"ing a MKVs file is for sure a workaround to make Twonky work with MKVs but I can't convert all my hundreds MKVs and I won't do it just to be able to use Twonky because it would be very time expensive. I think that many others who wo...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
It seems the Matroska folks were so concerned about this they developed a program to fix the problem. It is well hidden on their site (guess they are embarassed) but can be found here: http://www.matroska.org/downloads/mkclean.html. It is part of the mkclean tool. I tried mkclean and finally get my...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
I have another hint for your investigations gentlemen. I just installed on my NAS an open source UPnP media server (which i shall not mention here for respect of you because I really like twonky much more) which is able to stream by DLNA all my .mkv files that twonky 6.0.1 can't (actually I could no...

Re: TwonkyServer MKV & Samsung Issue
Same issue with .mkv files on: Samsung LED TV UE40C6500 (latest fw T-VALDEUC-1016.0) TwonkyMedia Server 6.0.1 on NAS Western Digital My Book World white light (latest fw 01.02.04 with installed custom TMS 6.0.1) files are listed but when TV starts playing it immediately skips to the next file. All ....
