One would expect that if one manually chose a client profile that it would stick, but nope... that hasn't worked since 7.2.x normally I would say to turn on logging and see what "HttpRecognition" or "DeviceDescriptionRecognition" is noted in the logs, so that one could modify or create a custom clie...

I used '/opt/bin' as a reference, as I am not actually sure where optware installs ffmpeg
as it might also be '/opt/sbin' or elswhere
you might have to also modify the path to include /opt/bin and /opt/sbin

To clarify - the large pictures are showing as blurred on the Sony Blutay, but these same pictures show up fine when viewed within the Twonky server (port 9000) when I go to "Photos" in there. they are not being uploaded anywhere, but a database is of them is being created dlna is not file sharing, so no its not sharing the in the traditional sense you are thinking of you need a dlna client to access them, or through the twonky web interface the db is either being created in a temp direct...

In a nutshell, we need ffmpeg or other to do the transcoding here are the steps that would be needed to make it work once you have ffmpeg installed 1. a transcoder is needed, usually ffmpeg 2. a ffmpeg.location file for the transcoder location in the twonky cgi-bin folder - this is just a text file ...

the other issue you are most likely to run into, is that each time the router is rebooted
or when then usb drive is removed and out back in, the game starts again
the idea of an all in one device is great, IF they put enough ram and a powerful cpu in it, but they don't do that

I think that it might be a good idea to see if you can get things working as expected from a trial install of twonky on a pc perhaps?

If I had to guess, I would say that it is more likely that the cpu and ram on the router can not handle it
that is a very large library, I cant think of a single soho router that could handle it
you would be best suited to use a dedicated more powerful nas device or a pc

Unfortunately editing Pioneer.xml doesn't work either. I rebuilt the database. Though at the first attempt I got "Media Server Database Internal Server Error 400162". I then rebooted the NAS and the rebuild continued and seemed to finish without error. Its possible that this could have borked thing...

Depending on the client and the format of the radio station some stations will only stream to a web browser - the dlna client might not be able to actually play the stream - the computer asking to open it in another program, same thing First see if using a WPL (windows play list) file helps Example....

yeah, I almost forgot, sort order changes do need a DB rebuild but you did that, so that's not it maybe check to see if the pioneer has a sort order on the device? maybe add this line to the client profile, "Pioneer.xml", might help <Quirk>IGNORESORT</Quirk> it is probably located here /usr/local/tw...

you may have to clear the cache and do a rebuild http://<nas_ip_address>:9000/rpc/clear_cache http://<nas_ip_address>:9000/rpc/rebuild but a rebuild could be a long process, depending on size of library and speed of nas disk I/o and cpu speed food for thought I rolled with 7.0.9 for a long long time...

The issue is being caused by WD share settings they are overwriting what gets defined in the Twonky share settings to stop this from happening, there is only one thing that can be done you have to enable SSH and then SSH into the NAS and rename a file with this command mv /usr/local/sbin/writeTwonky...

see if "Generic DLNA 1.0" or "Generic Media Receiver" work Sure one can try an try different profiles, or even attempt to create one But I think you should get the exact model number of the tv and then contact twonky via email support@twonky.com or help@twonky.com they may be able to help in figurin...

I don't think that is possible, as its really the client that is making the choice not sure if it there is even a way in the dlna spec to force an audio track choice to the client also track order can make a difference for client compatability as somewhat of an example, no matter what is being used ...
