Just saw your question, 2 years after I posted my first view on the MusicPal I would not recommend it anymore. Great firmware, great and unique features but unlike what I said 2 years ago it has a poor HW (one of my 3 is broken) and not a good sound. Nowadays there are much better UPNP/DLNA players ...

Hi, By the way, I'm rather surprised there are (almost) no posts about either the 5.1 release or, more specifically, the building of personalized trees in 5.1. I can't be the only one trying this, can I? Or am I missing something? Is there a seperate thread for this? After all the work done (for tr...

Hi all, I am new to this forum and glad to have found this excellent resource. I am using Twonkymedia 4.4.11 on ReadyNAS (the Netgear installation package). Thanks.
My ReadyNas Duo is running for more than a year now without any problem hence I never bothered to go to the Forum or to the Netgear site.
I see that the 5.0.68 is made for the Sparc machine. Is my ReadyNas Duo a SPARC machine?

If I remember well (I have been running twonky on a NAS for years), you just need to declare the Twonky server.exe as a 'service'. I have no issues playing FLAC on my NP2500. I only have FLAC files.
What Twonkyserver and NP2500 versions are you using? Are you using the latest?
You may also want to look at the way these FLAC files are tagged? I know there were some problems there.

I do also use Ethernet.

So you need a good DAC to make your philips sound good. The custom tree / navigation menus were a differentiator vs. other UPNP media manager (WMP11, etc.).

As clients, I have Philips SLA5520, Philips NP1100 and Freecom MusicPal (I finally trashed my MP101's...).
I have some times problems with the SLA5520 WIFI.
The NP1100 is far better (in all respect), very good piece of HW.
MusicPal is good as a standalone device and probably the easiest to use.
