Start TwonkyServer 7.05 at boot without a user logging in
Hi all, I am using TwonkyServer on a Lion OS X 10.7.3 Server quite happily. It serves my music and photos and to some extend also videos, though I seem to miss the transcoding option. For the time being, I can live without the transcoding of videos and dont need transcoding of audio files. But I wou...

Re: Mac OS X Lion Server won't transcode to iPhone / PlugPla
Hi all, back from vacation... Anyone have news on transcoding video on a Mac? On a side note, I have found a small workaround. I use PlugPlayer on my iOS devices due its really great interaction experience when it comes to music. Can't be bested by any other software I tried for iOS. Especially the ...

Re: Unable to shutdown MBP as Twonkymediaserver won't close
Hi all, sorry for the late reply - been on vacation. Same behaviour here. Latest Mac Mini Server 8GB, Lion 10.7.2. I'd appreciate anyways if I could run Twonky server without the need to actually log on. Yours, McTrinsic MBP Early 2011 - After Market Memory upgrade to 8GB. LION 10.7.2 Install Twonky...

Re: Unable to shutdown MBP as Twonkymediaserver won't close
Hi all, just wanted to suggest to send your Mac into Hibernation instead of switching it off. Works and uses almost no more energy than having it swithced off. While we are ranting about the problems, what about a possible solution. Anyone able to write an (apple-) script that actually *kills* the t...

Re: Mac OS X Lion Server won't transcode to iPhone / PlugPla
Sounds great.
I'll stay tuned.
During Christmas time I anyways have other things in mind that transcoding.
Audio streaming works like a charm, wonderfully.
I'll be here for an update mid of january.
Cheers,
McTrinsic

Re: Mac OS X Lion Server won't transcode to iPhone / PlugPla
Hi Rick,
I tried Twonky 7 today.
It didn't transcode either.
Streaming still works.
Due to the online-enforcement I went back to Twonky 6.x.

OK.
Twonky 7 will close.
Twonky 6.x will not be closed and therefore keep the mac from shutting down.
Bummer.

Re: Twonky 7 for Windows, Mac OS & Linux (PC) is Now Availab
Uninstalled after some minutes (Mac OS X Lion). I upgraded from latest 6.x build. It still does not transcode videos on Mac OS X. Logging in into myTwonky is a nuisance. Since I have never used the browser view it is totally useless for me. Would keep it if it accepted my old license key. Good luck....

Same here.
Mac Mini Server, Shutdown won't work.
This is somewhat annoying since I actually wanted to shut down the server for some time during night.

Hi jof,
thanks a lot for the answer.
I have been busy with my server on other aspects, so I wasn't able to test the solution out yet.
Will do so either today or tomorrow.
Anyways thanks for digging this out for me, I was not able to find it!!

Change list in folder view - bug or customizable?
Hi all, I am so far happy with the audio-streaming capabilities of Twonky server. One issue plagues me, however. A significant number of my files are old CD-Rips wich are not fully tagged. I use the option to navigate the actual folder organization. My files all are named accordingly, i.e. the first...

Re: Mac OS X Lion Server won't transcode to iPhone / PlugPla
Hi Rick, thanks for the answer. In the meantime I also tried Buzzplayer and ArkMC, without success. AirVideo works, but that is no surprise - it decodes the files by itself and doesnt need transcoding. I'll get back to you via PM, since I consider transcoding an essential feature of the server which...

Mac OS X Lion Server won't transcode to iPhone / PlugPlayer
Hi all, after some quite bothersome experieneces I am left with an o.k. working installation of Twonky Server for mac. Out of two issues left, this is one: Twonky Server (latest, downloaded a few days ago) will not transcode to my iPhone 3GS. On the iPhone (iOS 4.1) i use PlugPlayer (v3.8.0, latest)...

Re: Pre-purchase questions...
Sorry for the late answer...
Llink has some basic support, as does MediaTomb have.
What I seem to understand is that they mount the .iso file and then stream the files within.
Yours,
McT

Hi again, sorry to open up this again... I have yet to find a reference stating that *.iso is actually possible at all. Pre-purchase questions...
Hi, I am in need of a media server solution and I am considering Twonky Media Server. Although this forum is great, it seems to supply too much information - I get confused. So I would like to apologize if I ask questions which (probably) are addressed already. I have a Mac Mini server [2011] and no...
