Hi Louwke, I bought Eva some time ago and at the time it was a good buy. It was not all too expensive and did what I wanted it to do. It does stream a lot of different types of media and can deliver HD content to your TV. It does not consume a lot of power and looks nice next to your audio equipment...

Hi Roeland, AFAIK there is no additional configuration needed for Twonky to see Eva. I have a Synology DS101j with Twonky 4.4 and Eva finds it without problems. That said, does your Eva connect through wire or Wifi? I personally had some problems with Wifi but after changing to wire all went well. I...

Hmpf, that's strange. :? I would have expected more files to show up. This is what I get when I do exactly what you do (apart from the fact that I use LS and not dir  ) DS101j> cd /volume1/public/twonkyvision DS101j> ls -l drwxrwxrwx 5 root users 4096 Jun 29 18:31 TwonkyMedia-Downloads drwxrwx...

Hi Asmatt, Oops, that's not a good sign. Let's see if you can get up and running. So the next sequence of commands is based on my Synology DS101j. It could be there are differences with your DS (the volume1 could be different) What I do is this: cd / cd /volume1/public/twonkyvision (that's w...

OK. So install went OK but now what!? Have you made sure that Twonky is running? Can you open a telnet session and try the command PS to see if in the list Twonky is represented? If you see any reference to Twonky the server is running. If that's the case, view the file "Twonkymediaserver.ini". Find...

Hi Maple, I have Eva myself and used it briefly for viewing pictures. It worked like a charm. I stopped streaming pics from Twonky because it uses up a huge amount of memory on my DS101j. A few things you can try (verify): 1. Have you installed the latest firmware on Eva? It should be dated april 20...

Glad i found these forums and this post. I was considering a purchase of this product but have run into several issues (and I am a technical guy). Given the lack of support, the choice not to give Twonky my $$$ is an easy one. I'm in the software development business and if I ignored my customers, ...

Licensing question with two NAS devices
Hi, :?:I'm just wondering.... If I happen to have two NAS devices, am I allowed to use Twonky on both devices using only one serial?:?: In other words: is the license a site-license or a device-license? I am wondering! Why use two devices? I am trying to reduce the load on the main device (Synology)...

Houston, we have a problem! So if you Telnet the DS what is folders are displayed? You can use ls -d to display the directories on the volume. You will probably start in the root (I am not sure) and will see a number of directories. If not try cd / , do ls -d again and see what you will get. Let me ...

Well let's see. If I remember correctly Twonky did not automatically start after installing. I had to open a Telnet session and CD to the folder /volume1/public/twonkyvision. At that point I had to execute the command ./twonkymedia (mind you it is case sensitive). After that Twonky was up and runnin...

Hi Jeff, There is a patch available to enable Telnet on the Synology. Try a search in this forum to find the appropriate link. It helped me installing Twonky on my DS 101j so it might also work for you. If the Telnet patch is applied, you will probably have no more IP address issues as well. Hope th...

Hi CC, All that said, does anyone know how I can transfer commercial DVD's that I own and bought in a store, to my DS 106e? I cannot seem to figure this out. Do I need some special program? Cut and paste did not work so well. What I would really like to do is copy the DVD's to the DS 106e in whateve...
