hi...somehow the twonky media server 5.1.9 on my nas WDMybook world edition II is not running. the device is ok, the mapped folders are visible in explorer...is there a way to jumpstart the server?

hi...I'm trying the bgtranscode feature of the twonky media server. enabled it with an rpc call. what happens now? it just starts transcoding or do I have to install smth else? some plugin?

it might be faster and hubba hubba hubba easier to just go and buy a media player...any advice an a video encoder? xilisoft vc5 maybe? i have it already installed. thank you for all.

hi again. my proc is a quadcore, so it wouldn't be pegged, but showing 0% is strange. is there a way to trick the tv into thinking it sees the right format before i get on to the painstaking work of recoding a huge database?

My guess: Sony used to hide all file formats it cannot play. Older Sony products could only play MPEG-2 and AVCHD video. If your files are other formats, they will be hidden. hey Rodxxx, i have a bravia tv too, and twonky on a wd mybook world edition II. i find your post interresting. will coment on it. however, once i save the change in profile, should i reboot the server? i'll trial and error...and post back

rebuild database. try that if twonky won't see your folder. rename .mkv to .avi if the video file doesn't show up.

i think NAS thingies are all linux...so you'll maybe get some interrest into how to use the ssh connection to it.
