Re: Twonky and Transcoding
Thank you for all your help. I will give this a try after work. Just to be clear, you say that if I use -vcodec copy OR -acodec copy then the file will have to transcode to completion before it can be streamed (i.e. pre-transcode). But if I do not use either of those options then it will transcode o...

Re: Twonky and Transcoding
Many thanks for your replies and my apologies for not coming back sooner. I have been busy copying all my DVDs (2000 or so) so that I am able to stream them. You are quite correct, my NAS box is far too slow to do any type of transcoding. I tried converting a 90 minute film using ffmpeg and the whol...

Re: Twonky and Transcoding
Many thanks for your replies. The NAS is a Buffalo TS-XL. One thing I got wrong above is the transcoding has to go to MPEG-TS not straight MPEG. The Sony requires H.264 and AC3 in the .ts format. It's the only one that seems to work on the Sony via streaming. All formats work fine on a USB stick but...

Twonky and Transcoding
Hi All, Hopefully there is something you can help me with. I now have Twonky 6.0.0.39 running on my NAS box and it does just about everything I need. I had to downgrade from Twonky 7 back to 6 as due to the fact I have a lot of media (2000 videos) with the groupid being removed there was no way I co...

Re: Track Indexed Navigation Subtree
Many thanks for your help. I guess there is not really an option but to do it that way.
Why do they keep removing things? Everytime there is something useful, they seem to remove it in the next version.

Track Indexed Navigation Subtree
Hi All, Now I have my server working correctly, it's time to set it up how I want it. First of all, a quick question. I have just upgraded from version 4 to version 7. Why has the navigation tree creation feature been taken out and replaced with an XML based file editing system that you really have ...

Re: Server changing it's own name
Well I finally managed to fix it. All I did was start it up, change the name and then save the changes. It has not done it since and has been up for a few hours now.
Many thanks for your replies.

Re: Server changing it's own name
My apologies, it was the file you specified. The filename I pasted above was one I pasted when I was looking at the site. The one installed was the 7.0.5 kirkwood downloaded from the link you provided.

[quote="TMM_Product_Manager"]I'm not sure why this is occurring. 1. Is anyone else having this problem? 2. Server changing it's own name
Hi All, I purchased Twonky Special 7.0.7 yesterday to upgrade the Twonky 4.4 version that came with my Buffalo TeraStation NAS box. Installation went absolutely fine and I could stream from it to all my DLNA devices. But, after a while all my media devices would play for about 30 seconds and then I ...
