Re: Twonky 7.2.8 Music Track Sorting
if Twonky correctly identifies the Viera and the relevant view-definitions.xml file instructs it to sort music by track order (which isn't being achieved), then it seems that Twonky's intended functionality isn't working? I'm not an expert, but, based on my own experience and on what you describe, ...

Re: Twonky 7.2.8 Music Track Sorting
Thanks for your reply, but that's not the issue here.I once had a similar issue that software like iTunes, MediaMonkey etc. played and displayed the tracks correctly according to track numbers but Twonky didn't.

Re: Sorting Woes
Thanks. I'm new to this, so I don't know the history of the Twonky forum, but I certainly sympathize with your point of view. It's a pity that some companies don't understand how much value a good and stable user forum can create for their product. I'm setting up an old Win XP laptop as media server...

Re: Sorting Woes
I know that sorting changes in the view xml require a database rebuild a rescan or restart wont reflect the changes There is no rebuild button, so to do a database rebuild, use an rpc call http://127.0.0.1:9000/rpc/rebuild Thanks. You're right on the dot, that worked. Would you happen to know if th...

Twonky 7.3, Win XP. "By Folder" view is sorted alphabetically by Title tag. I wanted to change that, so I edited <C:\Program Files\Twonky\TwonkyServer\resources\views\view-definitions.xml> It now looks like this <container name='music' […] […] <container name='byfolder' id='music/folders' class=...

Re: Vanishing Media
Thanks for your reply.
Did you upgrade Twonky on the nas, as it comes with 7.2.6-2 ?
No. I suspect it was upgraded when I upgraded the firmware to v04.00.00-607, which I did right away after installing.
what ever shares are defined as having "Media Sha...

Setup: WD My Cloud 4TB, Twonky Server 7.2.8 By WD's default, Twonky is set to share All Content Types in the </Public> folder. The </Public> folder contains <Shared Music>, <Shared Pictures>, <Shared Videos> folders. Problem: I wanted finer-grained control, so I went to Twonky's </webconfig#sharing>...

Thanks for your reply. > you weren't looking at the "By Folder" ? No, I tested Album view (which I could see from view-definitions.xml that should have been sorted by track number). > I wasn't able to reproduce the issue you are having Let me re-state it, to make sure there's no confusion: Problem: ...
Can determine what Twonky is assigning to your iOS device for a Media Receiver Type?
Thanks for your reply. By default, Twonky lists both iOS devices and Mac as 'Generic Media Receiver'. I did set it to 'Apple iPhone', but it made no difference. More info: I tried a four...

Twonky 7.2.8 Music Track Sorting
I want to use a WD MyCloud [Twonky 7.2.8] as DLNA media server on my LAN. However, when I access it from an iOS device (iPad, iPhone), music tracks are always sorted alphabetically by title tag -- which makes it unusable. From several other posts in this forum, it would appear that the solution is t...
