Means to test server streaming performance?
Hi, is there any way to test the maximum throughput that my UPnP server is able to deliver? I'm looking for a client that can connect to the server and pull down a file at the fastest rate that the server is able to deliver, it doesn't need to render the content, just report that it is receiving the...

Re: !!!Auto Content Detection (working) - PLEASE!!!
At long last auto content detection is now working on the latest v 2.1.0 build 0814 beta firmware release for the QNAP NAS's - grab it here http://forum.qnap.com/

Re: !!!Auto Content Detection (working) - PLEASE!!!
The problem is the -1 config option won't stick it reverts to the default 60min timed rescan interval - least it never did stick with TV running on the LinkStation and neither on the QNAP. This indicates that the auto detection option is not supported - which considering it is included / built-in on...

!!!Auto Content Detection (working) - PLEASE!!!
Hello fellow TV users, I'd like to raise the issue of automatic content detection by TV again. This is for me by far and away the most frustrating aspect of TV operation. I've recently swapped out my NAS for a QNAP TS-409, previously having used a LinkStation. The QNAP runs TV & an iTunes server. Fo...

What system/configuration have you tested this with to say DivX is supported for PS3? It is not working for me on Linkstation PPC NAS. If you have some guidelines we need to follow for this to work, please can you post them here. Oh and is there any way for us to configure things such that Music Vid...

Do we know if Twonky also requires the database to be rebuilt like MediaTomb after making the MIME type changes in the client.db? I tried MT:avi video/x-divx without success, but I didn't rebuild database, only just restarted server. I'm not at home now to be able to retry. I would suspect it should...

We can probably fix this ourselves, I imagine it just requires a modification to the client.db entry for the PS3 to reflect the new video types the PS3 can now support. If I add .avi and .wmv to the MT:mpeg,mpeg2,vdr,spts,tp,ts video/mpeg line the files show up in the PS3 interface, but error play. ...

Toxic, Yes the 1.05 firmware supports WPA2 (TKIP & AES) wireless encyption, I've just checked it with my SpeedTouch router. I've been waiting for a usable firmware that allows the "push" video & photo renderer support for a while now - and this provides it :-). Again thanks to Borgstrand for your tu...

I'm not a huge Mac user, and don't really use iPhoto, but I do have a Kodak EX1011 and Twonky running on a LinkStation NAS. I would suspect the operation of Twonky is going to be pretty much the same on both platforms. The Albums I believe just refer to Folders so If the Album on iPhoto is just a da...

Hi Christian, Another vote for a feature to display photos in a random order on the Kodak EX1011 Picture Frame. I've caved in and gone out and bought one of these as I wasn't getting anywhere trying to contact Momento support to fix the compatability with Twonky. It's a shame as I got to say the Mom...

Hi Nathan, thanks for advising of new s/w availability. I've tried it out, and it is deffinately not an equivalent to the latest US version. There is one feature that they have implemented/fixed in the new US version that I want, and that is the ability to "push" Video & Picture content from a UPnP ...

Hi Christian, Now that the new version of inotify is embedded in the later 2.6 linux kernels and apparently does not use or create /dev/inotify would it be possible for Twonky to now look at supporting this method of new file detection, as this is the way things appear to be moving. I gleened this i...

Pete, the first thing you should realise so far as the Nokia phones, is that they are NOT UPnP renderers i.e. you cannot 'stream' content from your UPnP server (Twonky in this case) to your phone. You can use the Nokias as Control Points - glorified remote controls in effect where you can choose to ...

Hi Chris, Twonky support has been working away on this, I've been providing network traces capturing the the UPnP dialogue between WMC and the Momento and also Twonky and the Momento. With the latest 4.4b5 build the Momento will detect and connect to Twonky but so far all I can get it to display is ...

OK I'm determined to get this working... I've done some more tinkering and made a bit of a breakthrough, but there is still obviously a vital setting that's needed to get it to work. By forcing the use of any of the client types in the client.db that have the DX:WMC parameter (this is xbox360, WMP &...

I've just bought one of these ( http://www.momentolive.com/ProductsMomento70.aspx ) on the hopes that it would be able to display pictures stored on my LinkStation NAS running TwonkyMedia 4.4b. It is compatible with Windows Media Connect and is able to see the pictures on my PC when I use WMP11 the ...

I'm not convinced there isn't an issue with getting the Xbox360 to connect with the latest version of Twonky as I too now can't connect with my Xbox360.
