6.0.30 doesn't scan folder with Chinese names
After applying 6.0.30, and I did a rebuild of the database, I saw that twonkymedia only scanned 600+ of music media files, when I have more than 1000 of them. upon closer look, I noticed all the musics scanned has english name folder . Those folder with chinese name are skipped totally. Is there a b...

Twonky support for D-Link DNS-343?
does anybody knows where I can get the installation for DNS-343? Essentially same as DNS-323 I think, just that this is a 4 bay NAS.
Alternatively, what NAS would you recommend (preferably 4 bays) that would have good Twonky compatibility and support?

Re: TwonkyMedia server 5.0.46 is available for download
I just had 4.4.11 applied and now I see 5.0.46 for my maxtor plus is available but require a license key. is there a way to trial it w/o purchasing the key? otherwise, what's the difference between 5.0.46 versus 4.4.11, as I want to make sure I buy the license for a version that works for me. 4.4.11...

broken album arts and 3gpp video playback
After the latest PS3 firmware upgrade (2.60) and applying of TMS 4.4.11, I finally found I have all my media streaming requirements fulfilled (which is great!) except two things 1. the album arts for the mp3 are broken, no album arts are displayed, and when the mp3 are played there's a message pops ...

Best compatibility with NAS ?
I'm shopping for a new NAS to replace my Maxtor Plus Shared, I am hoping there's a NAS that has twonky server built in as I assume that will have the best support in terms of twonky compability. Alternatively, what NAS that will have the most stable twonky build? any advise is greatly appreciated. f...

I just applied 2.60 .. it now works well with the AVI file (that's MPEG-2 encoded) that's stored in the media server!

btw, does your AVI file (straight from the camera) play on PS3 w/o changing the file extension? I have to change the file extension to ".MPG" before PS3 can play. If I leave it as AVI it says unsupported file format. @probedb, how to demux them and put them on a different container? I have a H264 mo...

Re: Are You Happy With Your PS3's Media Client capabilities?
I have converted one of my movie to H.264 encoded format before, but PS3 doesn't appear to be able to play, it seems that Twonkymedia couldn't parse it properly? Why does Twonky not just 'push' out the video in its native format for the PS3 to interpret (or at least have an option to), rather than t...

Re: PS3 FW2.20 and TV 4.4.4 = stuttering MPEG4 play!
MY experience is FW 2.30 fixes MP4 stuttering, AND WMA still works (my worry, was they rolled back the changes that fixed WMA and broke MP4, fortunatly, this was not the case). No issues so far with FW 2.30, DTS-MA support sounds great on the disc I tried, and the new non-web based XMB store is als...

could be the platform specific twonky itself, because twonky on my maxtor shared plus has no problem that you have described (all my wma play well under 4.4.x) but 4.4.4.RC3 is flaky for video streaming, jerky avi playback, distorted playback for dvd files, so I'm back to 4.4.3.1. Both 4.4.3.1 and 4...

Re: Lacie Ethernet Mini
just a confirmatio, my DIVX files are currently named with extension as AVI, I shuoljd just change to MPG? Depends on which version of TwonkyVision installed, if you have v4.4.2 then changing the file extension of DivX files to 'mpg' will allow most to be played via the PS3. If you have v4.4.3 or h...

From what I understood the WMP 11 does not have a build-in streaming client for uPnP Servers thus it will not be able to discover your twonky server nor play music from that location. Instead it can just scan shared folders (via SMB) and add those files to your library. what's SMB? That's what I am...

Problem using WMP11 in Vista to access Twonky
hi,
i understand that I can use Vista's WMP11 to access media files stored and streamed by Twonky media server.
I can see Twonky media server when I click on start > network, but when I double-click it which triggers WMP11 to run, it doesn't do anything.
did I miss anything?

Yes, TwonkyMedia can already stream DivX to compatible clients. It may be however, you have to wait for Twonky to update the client format support table in the software. However, a large userbase of PS3 owners now how Twonky, and 4.4.3 is currently in beta, so as soon as Sony switch on DivX support...
