Re: Zyxel DMA-2500 - another new DLNA/UPnP device

I have the DMA-2500 too but the Twonky server is not working properly with it. Not all video and container types which the DMA-2500 supports are made available and buttons for language and subtitle selection do not work either. Furthermore DVDs consisting of several VOB files are not played as a sin...

Re: Are You Happy With Your DLink Hardware?

In general I am happy with the DSM520, it is a steady performer for both video and music, though I like to see some improvements in the DVD playback area. DSM520 does not support menu structures, nor sub-titles, nor multi-audio selection. An annoying 2 seconds delay occurs between each next VOB file...

This is also true for the general naming section and the video tree. Entries can not be cleared and names always go back to default.

DSM520 - display of .BMP images

Twonkyvision is able to recognize bitmap image files with the .bmp extension and can make them visible when accessed by a browser, but it results in a "Not supported format" error when send to the DSM-520. When using D-Link's own server software these same images are all properly recognized and disp...

Does anyone know the improvements made in version 1.0.1r3 of DSM-520? I mainly use the DSM to watch videos (VOBs) but I don't see/experience any changes from the previous firmware. That is: (1) it is not possible to select audio stream or subtitle stream. (2) an annoying 2 second delay exists betwee...

There is a new firmware version dated 24-07-2007, but this one can only be manually installed since it is located in a different directory. Unfortunately there are no release notes, it makes it hard to tell what changes and improvements are done. It would be nice to know once the official release is...

D-Link added a newer version on the web page mentioned in an earlier post, dated July 12th. I installed it, but can't really tell the differences or improvements. Most of my concerns are regarding VOBs with subtitle and language support, nothing improved in that department as far as I can see. Maybe...

Could it be that there are differences between the US and Euro versions so that the machines point to their respective countrys download server? There are indeed different servers for the US and EU versions. See ftp://ftp.dlink.com/medialounge/DSM520 ftp://hqftp.dlink.com.tw/medialounge/DSM520/ If ...

When VOBs are not played in the correct sequence it might come because the "shuffle" function of the DSM-520 is set ON . For some reason when shuffle is set for music the DSM will do it for video too. Note: If it doesn't work to get shuffle OFF, try setting the DSM-520 to factory defaults. Navigatio...

Any thoughts on this are welcome, but at least I got it working again. Twonky can be addressed on the IP address of your PC fine, it is not restricted to the localhost address only. I don't have any problems with Firefox and Twonky. The thing you may want to do is to clear the browser cache and res...

I installed 1.04 before I read all of this. The thing I noticed was that the Internet Radio would not play. It would start and stop and repeat. Exactly the same thing here, with the older version internet radio was okay but now it is only stuttering. I have an EU model and took the step to put this...

Subtitles have been requested by many... I like to add that subtitle support for different file formats should be in. It was announced to get SRT file support but until now this is not working. And ofcourse subtitle support for DVD films (VOB) is lacking quite obviously. In addition to different su...

I have tried version 4.2 beta 4 but still no subtitles shown when using SRT files.
