Re: Subtitles
My Popcorn Hour 110 can use directly networked resources. So, I don't use anymore Twonky to stream movies, cause I need subtitles.

Subtitles
Would somebody tell about latest developments in subtitle issue. Every simple media player plays them, not streaming Twonky. Have tried .SRT files, doesn't work with AVI-s.
Configuration
Twonky server 5.0.61
Popcorn Hour 110
720p MKV container
.SRT subtitles
Result: No subtitles on the screen

Wor-around
I went back to 4.4.11, Twonky has new download page: http://www.twonkymedia.com/installs.html for previous versions.
Rescan works for 4.4.11 and Win XP

My HD streaming blog post about that
I made upgrade from 4.x to 5.0.46, paid for it and got product, what is not rescanning directories! Shame! I spent many hours, trying to understand where is the problem. I go back to old but want my money back and compensation for lost time.

Re: Matroska MKV format conversion
I can recommend to everybody who are interested in HD streaming (usually MKV and H.246 related), that following combination works well
TwonkyMedia 4.4.9 as server on Win XP
Popcorn Hour A-110 as client
I have streamed 1080p stuff at 15+ Mbps video and 1,5Mbps DTS sound flying...

Re: Popcorn Hour rocks
Important note about MKV's
In order to stream MKV-s, You have to upgrade TwonkyMedia to last version. Versions before 4.4.4 didn't index MKV-s, 4.4.9 does.

Popcorn Hour rocks
I would like to elevate one product above others. I have been long time (in the context of streaming) vast fan of Dlink. Still, lacking support of MKV and H264 made me search another product. After short studying i made decision for Popcorn Hour . And I really like it, after using few weeks. Best fe...

Re: TwonkyMedia 4.4.6 Does Support MKV!!!
I really can confirm: 4.4.4 no MKV support 4.4.9 MKV support added So, I upgraded today to .9 version and voila - it finds all MKV containers. Earlier I had to foon Twonky by manually remaning MKV-s to AVI in order to index them. I also bought Popcorn Hour A-110 and I LOVE it. Absolutely amother lev...

Super great news. I ordered also http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore, cause Dlink dsm-520 didnt handle this job. HD MKV client job, I mean.

Re: Matroska MKV format conversion
I gave up. Too complicated and in 90% cases impossible to find right decode method. I ordered Popcorn Hour HS streamer to look Matroska HD movies. Matroska/H264 is currently #1 HD format in torrent stuff and need player, able to play them without cumbersome decoding process.

Re: Are You Happy With Your DLink Hardware?
I have DSM-520. Main problem is Matroska (.MKV extension) container and H.264 format. As I'm keen HD adopter, I need badly these features. As it said 520 is HD model, should play most frequently used HD formats.

Re: HD to dsm520
My DSM520 plays .TS Victoria Secret show. Please check that Client setting is correct in Twonky server. If DSM is treated as general streamer, it won't play HD. I experienced samree problem. You should reset clieent table and restart everything.

Re: Are You Happy With Your DLink Hardware?
I have both DSM320 and DSM520. DSM320 is for music only and I'm very satisfied with that. DSM520 is used both for music and videos and has more demanding job to do. I'm pushing it to the limit trying to get everything in HD. And there the problems start. In usual divx and VOB-s DSM520 is great. Only...

H.264
Question is more to Dlink people, but may-be someone can comment? Is H.264 supported in future by DSM 520 with newest firmware? Or new models are comong out. Also what about Matroska container. Lots of HD stuff is in MKV-s in AVC H264 format.

Re: HD to dsm520
HD streaming is my big hobby last few months. It started after finding HD movies ib WMV HD format from Microsoft HS showcase. For some reason they play, but no voice. in PAL and NTSC I play usually uncompressed VOB files, ripped fdirectly from the DVD-s. In HD format I downlod stuff from torrents: -...

Matroska MKV format conversion
I got few films in Matroska format (viedo stream), MKV files. As Twonky and D-Link does not support it, what is the best conversion software and conversion codex? I tried divx and mpeg-4. Any suggestions?

DSM-520 and WMV HD, picture but no sound
My DSM-520 is able to play several 1080 formats, but I have problems playing HD format WMV (Windowows Media Video). I have HD image, but no sound. I'm using digital output and Onkyo decoder. Do You have same problem?
Any solutions??
