I'm glad to hear that people are getting things working. As for subs on ts streams, I believe this is not supported by the ps3 right now. I could be wrong, but I think we'll have to wait for a firmware update on that one. In regards to connection problems there are unfortunately many variables. My g...

Revenge, I'm not sure what you are asking, but here is what I did. First, I downloaded a trailer off of the store and put that on my computer to make sure that encoding wasn't a problem. Then I turned UPNP off on my router. Finally, I reinstalled twonky media from here http://www.twonkyvision.com/Do...

Nevermind, fixed my own problem there too. I guess it was because of the rescan settings I had listed, but a full database rebuild solved it. So to recap, mp4s on a mac server working ok with scan functions. Yay. Interestingly, twonky also recognizes mp4 files in .mov containers, but the PS3 is less...

So I finally got mp4 playback, but now I'm having a problem where some of my mp4 files won't show up at all after a directory scan. Any ideas twonky-christian as to what I might try or why this is happening? I've tried to move the files to a new folder and then rescan as well as renaming them and th...

Finally I was able to get an mp4 file from the ps3 store to stream. I did this by turning off upnp on my router and reinstalling twonky. Still not sure what did it, but it works. I'm still trying to sort through issues with files not showing up or not playing, but things seem to be getting better. S...

Ok, ran another round of testing including taking a PS store trailer back to my comp. Still no luck. File shows up as unsupported data. Trying to play it anyway results in the filename showing up but the file still won't play. I'm working with 4.4 b2 on a mac. If someone has gotten .mp4 playback to ...

Also, I'm currently investigating mp4 playback. Discussion is in the main media server forum, but I'll report back if I have any success.

In handbrake you can choose which chapters to encode. I usually use the gui so I don't know the CLI string, but it can obviously be done there too. The reason I asked for a file is that I'm pretty much using the same settings with no luck, so I wanted to minimize all possible difference. I'm also wo...

Just in case you don't look up I'm going to keep editing my original post. WAV and M4A files do work on the PS3, but so far not through twonky Itunes and Iphoto libraries should show up so we might be able to help you there (I'd poke around in config) Dave, if you could share a small MP4 file sample...

toby, if you can be more specific with your problems maybe we can help. Obviously the ps3 has to be able to play the file type, and I haven't tried many pictures, but mp3's seem to work fine. There have been some posts as to problems with file extensions in all caps so that might also be something t...

twonky 4.4 Beta2 and PS3 compatibility list
I thought we might try to compile a list of working and non working media types both for users and so the twonky people can know what to work on. I'll edit this post as I test some more but here's what I've come up with so far. Working formats: MP3 WMA MPG Mpeg1 and Mpeg2 MP4 (finally got it to work...

Apple doesn't include built in upnp/dlna support in any of its applications (unless I'm misinformed) and likely won't at least in the foreseeable future. I'm not sure what standards itunes sharing uses, but I doubt it will ever play nicely with the ps3. This is one place where it's nice that microso...

90% of all upnp problems are firewall related. I don't know if this will help all or any of you but it helped me (I found it posted in earlier threads). In system preferences/ sharing/ firewall make a new selection and open TCP 9000 and UDP 1030, 1900, 9080. They might not all be required, but this ...
