I am not using NAS, but a Windows XP-based server. There's still no proper alternative as far as I am aware, but suggestions are welcome.bump wrote:Unfortunatly there is no real alternative if you want to run a upnp server on a NAS environment

Re: Media Server 5 - "iPod-like" sort-order defunct ?!
yes, the "ipod-like" sort-order is defunct in version 5.0.55 Thanks for confirming. There appears little commitment from Twonky after the company was sold; too bad. Maybe Christian has left? I am happy with the version 4 media server for now (luckily the downgrading worked), but have started lookin...

Reply to self:
Wrote the Media Manager license in the wind, uninstalled everything, re-installed version 4, and am happy again.
Lesson learnt (again): don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Media Server 5 - "iPod-like" sort-order defunct ?!
Recently upgraded my twonky media server 4 to media manager and media server 5. I shouldn't have tried to fix what wasn't broken, but now it is: I can no longer get the iPod-like sort-order. I changed it through media manager and the web interface, restarted the server, etc - at no avail. I get Musi...

Re: Kodak EasyShare EX1011 Question/Problem
I think you might have a bitrate issue. I have the same frame and it fails to show any of my high-resolution DIVX (AVI) videos. Thankfully I don't care for this feature, but I recently noticed that the videos played right away when used with an experimental installation of the ORB server (www.orb.co...

Freecom Media Player 450 anyone
I am looking into the Freeview Media PLayer 450. The data sheet says all the right things, and indicates support for SMB (Windows file sharing), so there may not be a need for the Twonkyvision Mediaserver. I have used TV over years now and would like to continue using it as the single server system,...

These things are hard to find, I know. Will keep you posted if anything comes to mind. Meanwhile, my newly licensed media server will be out of trial days the next time this happens, and will refuse to work. (It reported just one day of trial left the last time it lost the key on Saturday). Can you ...

...looks I found a way to solve it. I found more then one twonky files in the windows/prefecth directory. After deleting these files only one twonky file reappeared . More important at this moment the problem has disappeared. Sadly no such remedy here, but repeated key loss (and loss of all other p...

I use 802.11b with a Netgear MP101 and it works just great. The Roku stuff wasn't available back then; I'd prefer the Roku devices today, too. Note that both Soundbridge models support Wifi and wired connections (http://www.rokulabs.com/products_compare.php). When in doubt and able to supply wires, ...

been here, gone away - and came back
Just wanted to report to Twonky and this forum: I have been a happy TwonkMedia user for years, serving Netgear and Streamium clients from a Linux server. I recently switched to a Windows-based server (for unrelated reasons), so I took a look at what else is out there. I tried a couple, Windows Media...
