Re: Movies play with USB drive but not with Twonky on Samsung TV

May be You should upgrade to Version 5.1.4 - from the release notes: Release notes for TMS 5.1.4 ---------------------------- Bug fixes: - fixed: Windows 7 is requesting a driver installation for Twonky - fixed: Twonky prevents NAS from going into sleep mode - fixed: Crashes when sharing 3gp content...

Re: DB rebuild

I can't confirm this (Version 5.1.3-dev ) - a server restart simply issues a rescan, but the Database is not rebuild (about 11.000 media files) - running the server on a Thecus N7700 NAS

Re: TwonkyMediaServer on Thecus N4100+ - settings are not saved

hmm. I'm the maintainer of the Twonkymedia Package for the Thecus N5200 (and similar modells). It seems that the ini file is written in an area which is cleared upon reboot of the box - could You post here the line or the whole script which starts the twonkymedia server.

Re: Twonky 5.1 and Popcorn Hour C-200

I use twonky with a popcorn hour A-110 - check Your media receivers settings in the menue of the server. The autodetection is not working - I have set it to "Syabas Firmware based" and streaming works well with divx and xvid avi files. Pictures I have not checked.

Re: twonkyserver 5.0.61 dbdir parametr wrong handled

The issue is solved now in Version 5.1 by introducing of the appdata startup parameter. Giving this parameter with a directory you can specify where all the application data (including database) are stored.

Re: can't change enableweb in the .ini file

Every option can also be changed via browser.
http://YOUR IP:9000/rpc/set_option?OPTION=VALUE
(if Your twonkyserver listens on port 9000)
So to change i.e. the enableweb value, type at Your browser:
http.//YOUR IP:9000/rpc/set_option?enableweb=1

A restart of the server may be required.

Re: Problem connecting to Twonky.

Yes, I know - but nevertheless the twonkymedia server process should run on the NAS and listen on port 9010 or default 9000. As You wrote that You have checked the ini file and have manually started the server, I was assuming that You have console access to Your NAS and therefore have also the possi...

Re: Configuration Changes are lost on Server restart on DNS-323

The ini file seems to be in a place on Your NAS, which is cleared upon reboot. This should be corrected in the startup procedure of the server by adding the parameter "-inifile <full qualified place of ini file>" to the twonkyserver startup command.

Re: New User Needs Help

Theres a temporary solution if You have access to Your box via ssh or telnet. Go to the resources folder of Your twonkymedia installation and change the clients.db file - comment the entry for the ZIOVA player or copy the content of the generic entry to the entry of the ZIOVA player. Be sure to make...

Re: Database

That issue on the Thecus N5200 and N7700 is solved now with the latest module release 2.00.16.2 which contains twonkymedia version 5.0.61. The behaviour of double entries was caused due to not proper handling of the dbdir option in the ini file. Some of the database files are still written to the de...

twonkyserver 5.0.61 dbdir parametr wrong handled

Just for Your information: The twonkyserver 5.0.61 does not handle proper the dbdir parameter of the ini file. Some files are still written to the default location of the db (/var/twonkymedia) - these are the files : byebye, db.info, clients.data, twonkymedia-locations.db - all other data of the dat...

Re: How to change location of ini and db

Add on:
You also might want to change the location of the log file, cause this is written in default to /tmp and fills up Your flash.
So add also as parameter in the startup script of the server
-logfile <your dir/log file name>

Simply add the parameter

Re: How to change location of ini and db

Theres a simple solution for that. For some of the folders the server needs, just modify the twonkymedia-server-default.ini file: cachedir=/raid/data/module/TWONKYMEDIA/twonky/.Twonkymedia/Cache dbdir=/raid/data/module/TWONKYMEDIA/twonky/.Twonkymedia/db mediastatisticsdir=/raid/data/module/TWONKYMED...

Change location of log file : TwonkyMediaServer-log.txt

Does anybody know how I can change the location of the log file via command line parameter for the 5.x Servers - per default the log file is written to /tmp - I mainain a package for Thecus NAS devices (N5200, N7700) and the /tmp is on a very limited partition on the flash and fills it up very quick...

i don't think its absurd to think you would have to pay for a new license for a full version upgrade, not just feature upgrades like 4.4->4.6 i don't think twonky said anywhere buy our software once and you get every subsequent major version release for free. --Says the person who joined the forum ...
