I have the same problem with TMS and the LG BD390 so I've now given up using it. The BD390 supports Samba shares so I now use this method to access my media on my Thecus NAS.

I assume he/she means external or soft subtitles, e.g. subrip (.srt).mgillespie wrote:What are External Subs? SubWoofers or something?
In answer to the original enquiry, no TMS does not seem to support external subtitles.
Re: Setup
Twonky would need to be installed on your NAS for the PS3 to access the media files directly. Sony published an update (FW 2.20) to its PS3 and Twonkyvision has a problem  It's not TV where the problems lie, but Sony with their buggy firmware releases. I've had a PS3 for about 7 months, bought mainly for its media client potential when streaming from a server. In that time it has fail...

Can't have everything I suppose, Sony fix WMA file streaming problems and introduce (or should that be re-introduce) problems with streaming video files. Both AVC and WMV files are choppy/jerky on playback, at least MPEG-2 files seem to be unaffected!

I wouldn't bank on this being fixed in v2.20. I was contacted by Sony support only last week saying that they have now passed this on to 'Japan' to look into (after 3 months!). Mine is set to -1 in the TV Administration Pages and it remains set, I've never had it change. I take it you saved the settings when you changed it? Have you ever had v4.4.2 TV installed as this is the latest available on the LaCie? If not it could be a v4.4.4 issue.

Just to let you know that LaCie's latest firmware v1.1.2.1 is the same as v1.1.2 and therefore there is no point in applying this if you already have v1.1.2 installed. According to LaCie the 'newer' version was released as the original had installer issues, though I didn't notice any. Going by LaCie...

djroj2001,
That will work, it's what I did!
I did find that Twonky will automatically pick up the PS3 if you have "Enable sharing for new clients automatically:" selected
Don't forget the PS3 does not support 'all flavours' of DivX/XVId files.

Twonky only supported the PS3 as of v 4.4.2, but this doesn't support DivX/XVid due to Sony 'creating' a new MIME type.
