Apparently, it's not just Twonky that's affected, I read elsewhere that it affects other media streamers (with the exception of WMP11 which apperntly works fine). OK, step three... found an Automator action on the Apple site that closes Safari. Ok... after a bit of lateral thinking, I've set up an Automator action to run every time I boot my Mac.
