You can't play MKV files on a PS3. End of story.

Same behaviour here, on a QNap 209 (which ARM based... pretty much uses the Kirkwood build)
It's not a "rescan".. the DB is wiped, and scanned a freshed each restart.

The issue that John Glasson reported about "©wrt tag is not evaluated in m4a files" should be fixed in 6.0.31-RC5. Sadly I'm too busy to check the server forum on a regular basis. PeeBee... The OS is Windows Home Server... I have not been able to find any documentation tata WHS runs on Unix time. Is there any way to change to UTC? Nothing to do with WHS. I would recommend converting them to a format that supports tagging.... For example, convert them to MP4, and use mp3tag to set the date as you see fit...

As far as I know, the PS3 only supports playing of files larger than 4GB when streamed via DLNA. You cannot copy a file >4GB locally to the PS3 and view it.

Yup.... Same thing here... Mine being on a QNap device (Linux, ARM based).
If the disks are spun down, the server doesn't show up.... Although, Twonky "sees" the PS3 and seems to spin-up the disks to get going... That can take some time however... :/

For windows, MP3Tag does the exact same thing. Set to id3v2.3, Load all files, save.

I don't think vob supports tagging. Mpeg-2 is a standard, not a container, so.... I would recommend that you convert your vob files to H.264 video, AAC audio streams in MP4 container. At least that way you'll have a standardized tag format for your files which holds albumart, etc, etc within the con...

Why would you lose surround sound?
Just convert your AVIs (with I assume 5.1 AC3) to MP4s with 5.1 AAC... PS3 handles that perfectly fine.

Well, in my MP4s, if the Genre is tagged as "Comedy" it is still placed under "Unknown" genre by Twonky.
Any other genre works properly... Including even "Comedy2"... The word "Comedy" just doesn't work with Twonky v5.
