Has anyone tried transcoding with VLC on a Linkstation Live?
Hi I want to try out on-the-fly transcoding on my Linkstation Live with Twonky MS v5.065. I went to download VLC but I'm not sure if there is a compatible linux build for the Linkstation Live. I'm using the standard Buffalo linux build. Can anyone advise if any of the pre-compiled VLC versions will ...

Re: Buffalo Linkstation Pro & 4.4.11
Bizarre - it work with my Linkstation Live too. I now have 4.4.11 running happily. The process that you start and then kill is the mediabolic music server that cam installed on my Live box. Must some kind of weird interaction between the two server processes

Re: Buffalo Linkstation Pro & 4.4.11
Hi I keep a copy of all of the versions that I try - so I had something locally to let me roll back to 4.4.6. I don't know if you can send me a PM and we can discuss what we can do.

Re: Buffalo Linkstation Pro & 4.4.11
I tried 4.4.11 on my Linkstation Live (same hardware as a Pro I think) and it didn't work. I got the same problems as I had when I tried 4.4.9. Theres a posting in the Mediaserver thread from a Packet Video product manager, which suggests that 4.4.11 has been created to handle TMM licences as people...

Re: NAS Download on new Website?
It looks like the version available for download is 4.4.11 - the last one that Christian announced was 4.4.9, which wasn't stable on many NAS boxes. Does anyone know what 4.4.11 has over 4.4.9? Does it fix the unstability? I can answer my own question - 4.4.11 doesn't run on my linkstation live wit...

Re: Twonky 4.4.9 keeps spawning new processes then crashes
I've just tried the ping trick with 4.4.11 and haven't had much luck so far. I left the box running and eventually the media server did run but it hasn't since I changed some of the config options (paths etc) and restarted the server. For information my NAS box is a Buffalo Linkstaion Live. I'm usin...

Re: 4.4.9 released now
I've just tried 4.4.9 on my Linkstation Live and the server process doesn't run after installation. It shows as a zombi process in the process list. I used the Linkstation Live install package and the tried the Kuros Pro package (this has been required in previous releases) and got the same result....

Re: Fails to start on Linkstation Live after upgrade to 4.4.9
Hi, the old versions are still available for download. The linkstation pro version can be found under http://www.twonkyvision.com/Download/4.4.6/twonkymedia-linkstation-pro-20080730.zip If you need a different device/architecture, just replace the middle part of the filename with something that fit...

Re: Fails to start on Linkstation Live after upgrade to 4.4.9
Add me to the list of identical problems described here on my Linkstation Pro.    This is ridiculous. I own 3 separate Twonky keys and now nothing works and Twonky remains silent. AT LEAST offer me a way to download 4.4.6 again so that I can run that!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone know...

Do you think that your problems with 4.4.9 could be related to the problems discussed in this thread: http://twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5556 ?

Re: 4.4.9 released now
Same problems with nas-installer (NASsetup packages) on MSS2. Have - as even in the past versions usually- to copy all files manually to /share/Public/twonky/. Reboot serveral times - no luck -> Zombie process and no running twonky Cheers, Mikle So it seems like this problem isn't specific to the L...

Re: Fails to start on Linkstation Live after upgrade [FIXED]
I think I'm doing the same as you but still have the zombie process even after waiting a long time The steps I'm taking are: cd /mnt/disk1/share/twonky kill -9 <twonky media pid> rm -r twonkymedia.db ./twonkymedia At this point I have the zombie server process, which never goes away :-( When you say...

Re: Fails to start on Linkstation Live after upgrade [FIXED]
I'm glad that you've got it working as I'm having the same problem. I tried deleting the twonkymedia.db and rebooting the linkstation but I still end up with a zombie process. I'm guessing that I didn't follow the exact same steps as you so would it be possible for you to give a step-by-step guide t...

I also have no thumbnails/album art for music & videos I get intermittent problems with MP3 playback. Sometimes it says it's an unsupported media type, other times the same track will play :? I've noticed that if it happens with the first track in an album I can go on to a subsequent track which may...
