Re: How do I configure Transcoding in TwonkyMedia Server 5.1?
I'm trying to get audio transcoding to work so I can stream FLACs and WMAs to my TV, but the Twonky interface doesn't seem to want to let me. I grabbed the any2mp3 script and put it in /usr/bin, chmod +x; there was an 'any-mp3.desc' file in Twonky's cgi-bin directory (as opposed to any2mp3.desc) so ...

Re: Toshiba 46G300U doesn't see Twonky server
Addendum: Twonky sees the TV by its MAC address as a generic DLNA device, but the TV doesn't see twonky.

Toshiba 46G300U doesn't see Twonky server
All the PCs on my network see Twonky, and my new TV sees all the PCs on my network as DLNA servers if I happen to have media player/VLC/etc running on them. Any suggestions as to why Twonky is missing? My evaluation period is almost up and I've already discounted twonky for every other use I'd hoped...

Bulk renamer script, in case anybody might find it useful
I've been using a tool called Media Companion to catalog and get folder.jpg files for the ripped VOBs from my DVD collection, and wanted a way to do bulk renaming of the movie files & folders based on items from the metadata culled by Media Companion, so I tossed together a VBscript that did this fo...

Re: DVD and Video Metadata or Tags
I don't know - every search I've tried for "VOB metadata", "VOB tag", "MPEG2 metadata", etc., has come up mostly with link to MP3 tag editor downloads.

Re: DVD and Video Metadata or Tags
I'm in a similar situation - I've got a bunch of DVDs ripped as VOB files and am evaluating Twonky as a media server solution for streaming to PCs running XBMC or Boxee and eventually to a PS3 I hope to buy later this year. I've used an application called Media Companion to build metadata databases ...

Transcoding by client type/ID?
I'm resuming my efforts to set up a home media server after a year or more of having too many other things to do, and I'm hoping to build a Twonky box to handle it. As a parallel project I want to re-rip a bunch of old CDs that were originally ripped into MP3 files of sufficiently limited quality to...

Video metadata?
I've set up the trial of Twonky on a linux box I want to use as a household media server; I'm in the process of ripping a bunch of DVDs (to video_ts folder format, if it makes a difference) for storage there. I'm doing the ripping on a Windows box and would like to use MyMovies or some similar tool ...

Re: Need help installin on an eisfair linux server
I get the same error when trying to install on my Ubuntu box. It suggests the downloaded file is corrupt, but I've tried re-downloading it several times on several machines, never with any reported errors, but I always get the crc error thing when trying to install.

Newbie questions
I'm in the process of setting up a home media sharing network and am thinking that TwonkyMedia could end up as part of it. What I've got so far: - Old Dell 1200mhz server, 1g RAM, 200g system drive and mirrored 500g drives for media, running Ubuntu This box is mainly just acting as a file server via...
