Hello,
I think I did... but I couldn't tell you how I did it!! I will see if the setup is still on the server and get back to you if I can figure it out .

Re: Xbox 360 headache, It will playback ONLY WMV over Twonky
Hello, I am having the exact same problem. MP3s and Pictures work gracefully as ever with Twonky 5.1.2 but no video at all (although, haven't tried WMV) will stream anymore. I get the same error code in the Xbox as everyone else. I have resorted back to using 5.0.68 as someone else suggested. I have...

Flac to Wav for Xbox 360
Hi, I've got TwonkyMedia Server 5.1.1 running absolutely fine on my Ubuntu Server computer. It streams MP3s more than happily to the Xbox 360. Including Xvid videos. The works! However... has anyone managed to get Flacs to transcode on the fly and play through the 360 yet??? Can anyone post their cl...

Re: TwonkServ 5 won't boot at startup...
If you follow this thread EXACTLY, you shouldn't have any problems.
http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5065
It seemed to work fine for most people (until Twonky got borked a while back - but is now fixed).
Good luck! Let us know if this doesn't work.

Re: Ive tried and tried - Cant get to run at startup
Hello, Have you tried changing this line (about 1/3 of the way down your init.d script): "$TWONKYSRV" -D rc_status -v ... to... "$TWONKYSRV" -D -ip whatever.your.local.ip.is rc_status -v ... for example... "$TWONKYSRV" -D -ip 192.168.1.2 rc_status -v That fixed mine for me when I couldn't access it ...

Ahhh, thats another elegant solution to the problem. Both seem to work quite happily. I wish the SH had these values by default.
They could easily add an "If" clause for Ubuntu in case it causes problems for Red Hat users.
Cheers for this!

Re: How To: Install Twonky 5.0.46 on Ubuntu 8.10
Bump.
I have revised the original post to reflect recent changes with TwonkyMedia, updated all the links and checked all the code.
It all works fine again.
Thanks to all that helped out!
HB
P.S. Maybe this guide should go in the FAQ section of the main site?? It seems to be fairly sought after.

Hello, Running this should put the script in the right place for you: sudo update-rc.d twonkyserver start 45 2 3 4 5 . stop 55 0 1 6 . I also advise seeing the revised version of this thread, here: http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5065&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Hope that helps and fixes y...

Re: How To: Install Twonky 4.4.5 or Beta on Ubuntu Server 8.04
I just tried re-installing Twonky Trial on a friends server and I got the same problem. Seems like the Linux installer for 4.5 is broken - and as the version 5 beta doesn't list your music by Artists and Album on the Xbox 360 (Strange regression). Anyone got any idea why it doesn't work or when it w...

I still have the same problem myself. Which is odd, because videos work fine, its only music that doesn't.
I havn't tried the Beta yet, I wonder if that fixes it?

Try using this guide. Most of it is performed inside a terminal, but it should be pretty straight forward:

No problem on the guide! Just wish Twonky was a touch more reliable. All of my software media players read all of my tags correctly (and they are all fixed with 2.3 id tags and the such), but Twonky sometimes doesn't read them all. Anyway... I did not have to restart, ever, during my method (stated ...

Re: How To: Install Twonky 4.4.4i on Ubuntu Server 8.04 32bit
Can you tell me how you got the 64bit version working and on what OS specifically?
I tried on Ubuntu Server 8.04 64bit but I couldn't get it working - then I heard there was a package you could install to make it work, but I never figured out exactly what that was.
Any help?

Re: How To: Install Twonky 4.4.4i on Ubuntu Server 8.04 32bit
No worries, I assume this works on everything Debian based and is the correct way. It worked for me and many others but I don't know of its secure or anything else - I'm by no means a Linux expert. Maybe its worth putting it on the FAQ's part of the main site too, as I first looked there rather than...

Re: installing Twonky 4.4 on debian 4.0
The way it starts via Ubuntu Tweak only starts the server when a user logs in. This isn't the case when you are running via a server, as a user never logs in. The method states above starts Twonky immediately during boot time with no user login what so ever. Its useful for a standalone server rather...

Re: How Do I connect from a remote location?
If you forward port 9000 on your router to the IP of the computer that is running TwonkyMedia, you can then type the External IP address of your computer at home (Which can be found from http://whatsmyip.org) and do everything you could on a LAN. However, I advise that you give your TwonkyMedia a pa...

How To: Install Twonky 5.0.46 on Ubuntu 8.10
Notes: I can only assume this will work on Debian and Ubuntu 7.04+, Server and Desktop editions. Its untested on everything apart from Ubuntu Server 8.10 32bit. This guide also assumes a tiny understanding of networking and IP addresses. Firstly, if you are running 64bit, you need to install the 32...

I simply installed Twonky on Ubuntu server. Setup where to find my audio and the Xbox 360 automatically finds it all when you go "Music - (X) Change Music Source - PVConnect". With regards to VOBs. Re: Unknown artist in XBMC
I found out the problem. You need to make sure your Mp3s are tagged with ID3V2.3 tags, NOT V2.4.
If you use Debian or Ubuntu, I suggest installing EasyTag via a simple "sudo apt-get install easytag".
Then set your tag pref's to ID3V2.3.
That should fix your problem!

Yea, I get the same problem, but only on occasions and only with SOME of my albums and tracks. I gather it may be a memory thing perhaps.
