I believe so - the newer version specifically talk about better PS3 support. No harm in trying a newer version.
Did you use the "PS3" profile when you used Handbrake?

Handbrake seems to work well. The only problem I'm having at this point is that my sound is always 2 channel - not 5 channel as expected. Is there a setting in Handbrake that I'm missing?

Not trying to be inflamatory here, as I just spent $40 on this product, but the level of activity on this forum is really making me start to question my purchase. I've asked some really simple questions in the PS3 forum, and lots of lookers, but no answers. Once again - not trying to start something...

Wierd movie playback issue
I recently ripped a DVD to vob using DVDShrink, and threw it out on my Windows Home Server to watch on my PS3. when the movie starts, it switches every 2-3 secs from the commentary track to the movie audio track, switching my receiver from 2 channel to 5 channel each time. Has anyone ever seen this?

I have Twonky running on a Windows Home Server, serving up movies via gigabit lan to my PS3. I ripped a movie to vob (1 single large vob) and it seems to play back fine, although it uses a LOT of storage. I tried using DVDMobile from Slysoft to create a version that was further compressed, but ended...
