Re: TwonkyMedia server 5.0.46 is available for download
I think it's an appalling way to treat existing customers, especially since they'll lose them all because of crap treatment. Indeed. Notice how they editted out the name of a competing (free!) product I mentioned in my post? Well, newsflash, that's not gonna stop folks from using a different progra...

Re: TwonkyMedia server 5.0.46 is available for download
There also appears to be no way to stop it doing it's initial scan which is stupid. As far as I'm concerned this release is buggy as hell compared to 4.4.9. Kinda what I was afraid of. Meanwhile, the PS3 Media Server is kicking arse left and right. I say it's really rather sad that TwonkyVision has...

Re: Fails to start on Linkstation Live after upgrade to 4.4.9
UPDATE: Having left the system for even longer, it now appears to be working. The repeated display in the Telnet window has stopped and the PS3 access and Web access are functioning. Very wierd! UPDATE2: Having accessed the configuration screen to re-enter my settings I had to restart the server. T...

Re: Streaming MKV to PS3
Actually it does have to do with Twonky ;) ... what we're talking about is on the fly transcoding. Twonky can (in beta) transcode the files on the fly for you rather than you having to transcode them prior to streaming. I've done a mess of transcoding to make files natively viewable on PS3 but I wo...

Re: AVC / MP4 / h264
It would be nice if h264 was supported (AVC). Please support AVC :) It IS supported. Or rather, TwonkyMedia supports 'nothing', in that sense: it just streams containers. It's up to your PS3/XBOX 360, etc. whether or not they can do something with the embedded video codec. For instance, the PS3 wil...

Re: Streaming MKV to PS3
I have my PS3 over two weeks now, so by now I know you can't stream mkv files (yet). Has got nothing to do with Twonky. You can, however, easily concert an mkv file (which is just a container) to something the PS3 will recognize. Just extract the H.264 stream (if that's what's in it, which is likely...

Error occured during order process
Hello, I just ordered TwonkyVision Media Server, and after taking my credit card info, their computer says: "Sorry, an error occurred. Please contact accounting@twonkyvision.com to get your license information." But it offers no further order details. So, what am I supposed to tell them when I conta...

Re: license key already in use
I have the same problem, had to delete the ini file and am now in the 30 days trial period. If I enter my license key - shuts me out saying the key is used elsewhere - which it is not. Are Twonky going to put their hands up, admit that a bug and correct? In that case I wonder whether it's not just ...
