I am not provided with any NAS installation instructions. In addition, we don't have most NAS available here at this location, so we can't try these. We provide these as a service to our very advanced users who are normally able to get them to work. You might try searching the forum for instructions...

I suspect the Servio is transcoding your files. Please provide me with a few specific examples of codec and file extension combinations which are not working. Make sure these files are listed as a supported format with your device.

We were able to reproduce the problem you are seeing. It should be fixed in TS 7.0.10, which will hopefully be released in the next 4-5 weeks.

Although I could be wrong, I don't think this model lets you push media to it. I have a similar model at home and it PULLs media fine, but can't accept PUSHED media. We have a Sony BDP S390 here at work and that seems to accept media beamed from Twonky software (mobile or computer).

It seems like you might have a problem with corrupted media files which is causing problems with the file scanner. Can you identify which file it's stopping on and send that file to me for testing?

I'm unaware of any NAS that have enough power to do real-time transcoding or video without problems. MyBookLive is NOT capable of transcoding.
