TwonkyServer will let you stream movies from any computer. You'll need a player program on your Mac which can browse media on a UPnP or DLNA server. I'm sure one exists, but I can't tell what it's called.

Twonky Mobile can only push media to devices which are DLNA-certified DMRs. It sounds like your device might not meet that requirement. You may still be able to pull your media from your phone if you use your Philips remote to select Twonky Server.

Sounds to me like Netgear might be filtering Twonky for some reason. I'll ask our engineers to look into this. We advertise ourselves as a UPnP server and and UPnP or DLNA client should see us.

We cannot reproduce this issue. Shutdown goes correctly in both idle and streaming states.If someone can provide us with exact steps which help us to reproduce this we will reopen this ticket.

We normally announce updates here on the forum. The reason for this probem is because we store track numbers as 8 bit integers. We could easily increase this to 16 or 32 bits, however that would increase our memory usage. Since very few people have track numbers larger than 255, we will not be makin...

Sorry to hear that you're having problems.
The server uses UDP ports 1030, 1900, 9080 and TCP port 9000 – unless it’s already in use. In that case, we select the first available free port after 9000.

We tried hard, but cannot reproduce the problem. Here is what our testers report: Bottom line: Twonky is significantly faster in responding than Allshare (14s vs. 51s). hi Rick, and thanks for answering. my tv got upset when you called it old. never the less it's a 3d tv mp4, you tube....and various stuff enabled. now, transcoding "on the fly" is famous to bring to their knees slow processors...how does mine do it at 0% activity while streaming....what's the host ...

This sounds to me like a player issue and not a server-related issue. Have you checked with Marantz support? I checked their website and AAC is supposed to be a supported codec. Of course, if any of your M4a files have DRM they won't play.

Streaming HD video over any Wi-Fi connection -- even 5GHz can be hit and miss. You might want to look into Homeplug or MoCA adapters instead. See our best practices update for more info.

Although it probably won't make a difference to you, I feel the need to point out that Twonky is a media SERVER and your TV is the media PLAYER. We're serving the files fine, you just need a device which can play them.
