Re: Problems with TMS version 5 with Western Digital TV Live
I have tested on the version 4.4.18 and version 5, the result is no effect! Nothing happen! Now i have found an interesting answer from the WD Customer help! Here is the link! http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2742&p_created=1227235132&p_sid=HVUTjXNj&p_accessib...

Re: PS3 Video Thumbnails
Does Twonky have anything comparable to the this's video thumbnails ? It just takes a frame from about 10 seconds into the video, and uses it as a thumbnail. It is simple, and it makes it so people don't need to build their own thumbnails for every single video. Nope. I wish it did have the option ...

Re: problems with 5.1
I think you're not understanding the functionality of a server. The PS3 is a client, while Twonky is a server. The server has no line-of-sight as to what files are on the client.
What you're trying to do is not possible.

[BUG] For MP4 Genre=Comedy?????
Hi, I Just ran this test on Windows using the 5.1 version of Twonky, and the result is perplexing: I noticed that I have many MP4 Video items in the "Unknown" genre. All of these MP4s are tagged. Upon further inspection, I realized that all of the items have been tagged with Genre='Comedy' When I ch...

Re: MP4 "Date" tag question
Well, since nobody at Twonky was kind enough to answer my question, after a lot of search into ID3 specs (yes, not even twonky's mapping), I managed to figure out WTF twonky is doing... SO, to rehash, I had already tagged my MP4 video files, and had populated the YEAR field in iTunes. Twonky was abl...

Re: PS3 Video Thumbnails
If it is an MP4 you can embed the thumbnail into the file along with other meta data (you can use mp3tag or itunes for this), and the video's thumbnail will be passed to the PS3, and visible in the XMB.

I can hear the crickets...
It's amazing how this forum went from a bustling community where the devs were always involved, to what it is now.
It's especially sad because more and more it looks like Twonky is the only game in town.

MP4 "Date" tag question
Hi, I have noticed that in all versions of Twonky Server (4.4.X, 5.1, etc), if the MP4 file's tags are read "correctly", the following behaviour is visible (this is on the PS3, but I assume others as well): User can "group/view" by "Year" based on the value read from the "YEAR" tag. However, when vi...

Re: New Feature Requests
Hi, I have two features which I would like to request: [*] Ability to keep track of which Videos have been "previously viewed." Either on a global scale or per device. This "virtual tag" can then be used to group the videos into "Viewed" vs. "No Viewed". A setting stating "set to Viewed if X% of vid...

Re: 4.4.6 Out Now!
Anyone know if the album art problem is fixed? It was suppsed to be fixed a long time ago... (The problem is that album art for albums with '&' or other similar characters in them doesn't work) DO the release notes say it is? If not, then no. I guess "ThyMaster" answered that question for yo...

Uhm, unless your picture frames are the Media Servers, there is no need to buy 4 licenses because you have 4 Clients recieving data from Twonky.

To be honest, I'm not sure if Twonky guys are even reading the feature requests anymore, but I'll post my requests (one I've already requested, and one new one): 1) If the "Artist" field has several artists separated by either ";" or "/", then they should be kept as multiple artists in the database ...

Re: video Subfolder structure
Are you kidding? THat's definitly not the right kind of attitude. Especially not for someone who is posting in a forum. If you figured it out, then post for others as well. You're probably not getting responses because people don't know. Would you like to have everyone chime in saying "I don't know?"

Re: New Feature Requests
In addition to my previous request for reading abcAVI tags from AVI files (at least the common/easy ones), I have a second request: Ability to (via a button click in the interface) pre/re-generate the resized album/cover art from the media in the Twonky library. This should take the load off of NAS ...

Re: DLNA 2103 on PS3 while Twonky 4.4.3.1 on ReadyNAS
I also get the 2103 errors, however I already have the disable resize box UNchecked. I also get DLNA 2101 errors (A LOT), and having sent an email to Twonky support with the log file I still haven't recieved any response. As a paying customer (indirectly, having purchased a QNap box which comes pre-...

Re: AVI Tags Recognition
Is there any way to get Twonky to recognise tags within an AVI file for example IGEN = Genre & IART = Artist ???? I have used abcAVI Tag Editor to do the tagging and the tags are reported within the files by both GSpot and MediaInfo. AVI's tagged like this have the tags recognised within the Window...
