According to Christian, subtitle support is not standardized in the UPnP AV spec. Therefore there is no subtitle support in TMS 4.x.
TMS 5.0 has limited subtitle support, but this only works on a Toshiba TV that is sold in Japan. Sorry I don't have better news for you.

One thing to keep in mind is that some updates only include updates relevant to PCs, so it doesn't make sense to go through the work to create NAS versions for every build.

It's not a limitation of the trial version of TMS. It's technically possible that they are filtering the video tree out, but I don't have access to a Bravia TV to confirm this.

I checked with our Berlin office about this and unfortunately we cannot create the ReadyNAS version of TMS by ourselves. That is why is not available at the same time as the rest. We will contact the person who normally does this for us however.
