Licence problem; this is urgent so please fix it for us!
Hi I'm in the same boat in that I have just bought a new NAS (for a customer) and cannot licence TM4.4.9. Given that TM5 currently doesn't work with FLAC files and this NAS is for a customer with an expensive Linn system which will be used only to play FLAC files, I either need a TM4 licence or the ...

Re: Coverart not showing
Hi I have about 14000 FLAC files (on a NAS) and have found that art is really buggy in TM4. Initially, I had so many missing ones that the whole concept of showing art seemed almost pointless, but after some excellent info from Audiokaas and confirmed by experimentation of my own, I now have art dis...

Re: no internetradio!
Hi I've discovered what might be causing me the problem. I editid the hosts file and rebooted the NAS. I see that when you reboot the NAS, it builds a new hosts file with the original entries (i.e. without the shoutcast line). I've tried adding the line to the hosts file and rebuilt the TM database ...

Re: no internetradio!
Why do you edit an executable? Just enter this line to your "host" file. 207.200.98.25 http://www.shoutcast.com This file is intended for that kind of redirection. Works perfectly in Windows and Unix without any need to patch the shoutcast_plugin. Hi I've reverted to Twonky 4.4.6 as it performs bet...

Re: 4.4.9 released now
Is it just me or is the Twonky 4.4.9 rescan very buggy? Sometimes it resacans after correctly a server restart, usually it nees a full database rebuild to pick any new music up. Also, there is a NDD hibernation issue relating to rescan (which can only be sorted by a Twonky restart after the scan) fu...

Re: 4.4.9 released now
Hi Will the Netgear NAS one follow soon? The ReadyNAS link (from the list at http://www.twonkyvision.com/Download/TwonkyMedia/TM4Technicians.html) doesn't point to anything yet. Bri Update: I've just seen the note that it's appearing soon (by accessing a different page via another route: http://www....

Re: no internetradio!
Hi
As Turls asks in the post above this one, can anyone pass any comment on whether anything's being done for ReadyNAS users? It would be useful to at least know whether it's even being looked at or not!

Re: 4.4.6 Out Now!
Agreed; getting the basic items (which I've already paid for; I do keep pointing that out but it really is quite important) like Album Artist and Composer tag recognition would really make a big difference to navigating my collection. Update (Briain, Jan 08): Albumartist does work, it was the other ...

Re: no internetradio!
Me too; I'm happy with a hex editor but don't want to access my NAS root as it will invalidate the warranty; is anone working on a NAS patch or add-on (in my case for a Netgear ReadyNAS)?

Re: 4.4.6 Out Now!
Well said Bernhard!! I'm a user of the top Linn system and I am also an Engineer, I do not like being marginalized and compared to somebody who listens to wires and fuses; I don’t and find that extremely arrogant and actually quite insulting!! Now that artists, music companies and music distributo...

Re: no internetradio!
Hi I too am unable to find anything using the Twonky web interface; internet radio does still work fine on my SqueezeCentre (Logitech Duet) though. I wonder if this is a minor or major problem? I suppose that if it has impacted on all Twonky users (and indeed many other media players), it will be pi...

Re: 4.4.6 Out Now!
Thus, I think TwonkyMedia should invest a bit for the lossless folks as this is for sure a rapidly growing customer's segment. Cheers :? Do you have any sites providing data that lossless is a radidly growing segement? As this is the opposite of what I have seen, lossless is a niche still. Hi That'...

Re: Thecus N2100 spindown - irrespective of Twonky's scan setup
Footnote to the above: I tried an unofficial beta Twonky 5 for the Netgear NAS (someone has kindly posted on the Netgear site) and the hibernation failed. I've removed it to see if that's what caused the problem and will post an update when I know the answer.

Re: Thecus N2100 spindown - irrespective of Twonky's scan setup
Hi I've done a fair quantity of work looking to ensure my Netgear NAS hibernates correctly. At no point have I had any issue with TwonkyMedia server (see next sentence) but I have had problems with SqueezeCentre (see bug report here: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9102 ). I use both Squ...

Here's an idea:
How about a button (on the new web interface) which points to http://my.IP.address:8100/rpc/rescan and thus starts a database refresh?

Album tag filter now shown as folder filter in music tree
Hi Suspecting it's only a glitch in the Ready NAS version of 4.4.3.1, I've put this post here for people about to upgrade (note, this glitch is not service affecting): I've just updated from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3.1 and noticed that the music tree drop down list has two entries under ‘folder’. The top o...

Tree display error (folder) & album artist tag fault
Hi and happy New Year I had 4.4.2 and have just updated to 4.4.3.1 on my Ready NAS and noticed that the music tree has two entries under ‘folder’. The top one actually refers to album and the lower one to folder. The music tree retained my original settings but, for example, where they were set ...
