Have you set the ip parameter in your ini file so that Twonky only binds to the actual ip address of the QNAP and not the loopback address as well. Do you mean for music files, or for the audio contained within a movie? If it's for movies then you'll need to set up transcoding which seems quite complicated. I understand why the PS3 puts the stars there but not why it thinks the file names aren't compatible though. It does it with every one of mine. You've got it right there - no matter how much effort Twonky put in or how much we tweak our clients.db entries if the TV doesn't support FF/Rew then nothing will ever fully work. I don't know if you can do ths. In your ini fie you set the base directory for your content and then specify the path from that base directory on the Sharing page. So, as your LG NAS is not in the path under your base content directory on the QNAP NAS, you won't be able to specifiy it as a valid loc...

That might just mean that no value is set for that property i.e. it is using a default value. Try setting it to what you want it to be anyway with http://twonky-ip:9000/rpc/set_option?contentbase=your-path and then read it back out again with get_option . You shouldn't need to prefix the path to you...

It was easy to do this in 4.x but with 5.x you have to create your own view definition xml files.

Is Twonky still recognising the PS3 as a PS3? Someone else reported recently that it had been identified incorrectly and manually setting it to PS3 had solved the problem.

VLC and other DVD player apps understand the IFO files that give the structure to a DVD - Twonky does not. Twonky just sees a collection of VOB files which are just MPEG-2 video/audio files.

It's not just Sony - my Samsung B650 does the same. It has a Music, Photos, Movies top-level structure but the Twonky Music, Photos, Videos structure appears under each leg.
