The lack of audio suggests that the underlying MKV file doesn't have an audio track that is supported by ffmpeg. The mkvinfo command can be used to find out what the audio track is.

You can't. iSCSI shares a chunk of disk space that is then entirely managed by the client. It isn't accessible to anything else as a result.

Samsung TVs support different formats from USB and over the network. Also, just because one range supports a particular file doesn't mean another will. Yes, it's logical that it should, but even a firmware upgrade can break format support. However, have you checked that the TV is set as a Samsung TV...

I'm using Ember Media Manager revisited to provide the DVD covers, and Twonky displays those just fine on my Samsung TV. There are some things you need to do (such as ensure it is named exactly the same as the movie file), but it should work if the client supports it.

You can download it and try it for (ISTR) 30 days. Why don't you grab it and give it a whirl? How it presents your films etc depends to some degree on your client, but also the limitations of the DLNA protocol. While it can serve up the DVD cover, if you provide it, I don't believe there is any way ...

It would have been easier to edit the file telling it where to find ffmpeg. Now if you upgrade ffmpeg your transcoding may mysteriously break. Edit ffmpeg.location and replace the contents with /usr/bin. You can do that by:
Code: Select all
sudo echo "/usr/bin" > /usr/local/twonkymedia/cgi-bin/ffmpeg.location
