It has to do with the twonky service running as the "system" account
If you change the service to run as a user account, it will work as expected

Yeah there is no setting within twonky that tells you where it is running from it just knows where to put its working/cache data which you seem to have found If you look /etc/init.d there "might" be a shell script that starts twonky, and it might tell you where twonky is installed by looking at the ...
