Problem with Mediaupdate DNS-320

Post by blamaster » Sun Feb 05, 2012 1:19 pm

Hello,

first the Twonky Mediaserver works really fine. But it seems that there is a bug. If i set the refreshrate of the server to -1 i can´t access the Webinterface after a restart of the Twonky server.

The only solution was a reinstallation of the server. With a refreshrate >= 0 it works fine for me.

But a refresh by a timevalue isn´t a acceptable solution for me.

I installed the Server with the help of the tutorial from this website:
http://wolf-u.li/3789/installation-des- ... w-dns-343/

Any help to solve the problem ?

Hello,

I have the same problem. If i set the refreshrate of the server to -1 and I can´t access the Webinterface after a restart of the Twonky server. The only solution is a reinstallation.

I have this problem from vers. 6.0.35 and now I have installed the vers. 6.0.39 and the same problem. (No updated from v.3.0.65, the v.6.039 is a clean installation).

Kernel inotify support is what is used when scan time is set to -1 on Linux.

According to this thread on a DNS hacking forum (http://forum.dsmg600.info/viewtopic.php?id=6653) there is a bug in the implementation of inotify in the DNS-320 OS.

Chances are the bug is crashing Twonkyserver.

Thanks for letting us know about this Parnott. I'll forward this to our developers so they're aware of it.

Status update:

I received this message from one of our engineers:

inotify was often a problem on older systems. Depending on the version of the Linux Kernel that is used we had to make some adaptations for TwonkyServer. It would help us to know if inotify worked with older releases of TwonkyServer?

We probably won't be able to address this in TS 6.0, but we have created a ticket of this so that we track it as a known issue:

To check status on this issue in the future, please ask about DLNA-6982
