Hi,

I have just downloaded some episodes and the message i get on the DSM-320 when trying to play is 'File Not Supported...' etc. The files play fine on my laptop, so i know they're not corrupt or anything like that. They are .AVI files and when i view the properties of one in windows, it gives me the following information:

Frame Rate - 25 frames/second
Data Rate - 140kbps
Video Sample Size - 24 bit
Video Compression - DIVXMPG4 v3
Audio Format - MPEG Layer-3

The firmware version of the DSM-320 is 1.07ww.

Is the above format and compression compatible with the DSM-320?

Also, i've recently setup a new router/firewall, and my DSM-320 will no longer check the internet for a firmware update, are there any ports i have to forward or any special setup required to get this to work?

Hi,

afaik DivX v3 does not play at all on the DSM-320, new DivX versions should be fine, as they are more "real" MPEG4 ...
At least that how it is on my DSM-320 with FW 1.09us.
You might use Nero Recode or something similar to update the movies to a newer codec ...
