dns 323 and xbox 360 songs stop playing
ok ive got everything up and running. im still on the demo version of twonky and debating if i buy twonky and right now im not going to because it doesnt seem to work correctly.
i can see all my songs and it appears to work, but i almost never get through an entire song. the 360 is connected wirelessly and the 323 is connected to my router. i know i have good enough connection to stream songs cuase i can play xbox live and stream them using wmp11 and the 323 to the 360. so basically my question is how do i troubleshoot this and is this a standard problem? is this something in the demo? ive been surfing around here and cant really find anyone with the same problem. what actually happens is weird it will stop playing but if i hit next song or anything it will always play the next song so i know the connection is still there. any hints would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to hear from the Twonkyvision people on this. Last night I got my 323 hooked up to my 360 and the same problem occurred: The song starts playing, everything is fine, then trouble. The audio cuts out, though the song time continues to run. Buttons stop responding. It finally locked up my console.
Are there people out there who are successfully using their 360 with a DNS 323? If so, what is your secret?

360 Sound Playback cuts Out
I had the Same problem after loading Twonky 4.4.2 onto my Fedora Core 7 64 bit Linux Box. NO ERRORS ON INSTALL
using Xbox 360.
Ran the same version on my Vista 64 Bit and it streams fine.
Same Music Pictures Videos for each
Anyone have any ideas if i had to add some special decoder into the CGI-BIN??? or any other ideas?
I have read it maybe my router but same router and even tried the exact same port, adjusted my MTU to 1454 for netcard and router.
All ideas i have read make no difference @ all.
Playback before sound cuts out from 30 seconds - 2 minutes

terrible customer service. i wrote an email in july and posted here. no one(from twonky) ever replied to either. id just like to let everyone out there that i now have a demo of Version 4.4.3.1 and it does the same thing. i would gladly buy this software if it worked as advertised.
problem as described back in july
songs seem to play fine on the 360 they will randomly stop, but the xbox is still connected to twonky and the dns 323 because i can hit next song and itll play the beginning just fine.

If you haven't paid for the software, don't expect support, a benefit of a paid license.bcarusi wrote:terrible customer service. i wrote an email in july and posted here. no one(from twonky) ever replied to either. id just like to let everyone out there that i now have a demo of Version 4.4.3.1 and it does the same thing. i would gladly buy this software if it worked as advertised.

I am having the exact same problem with a D-Link router and running Gentoo linux(2.6.23). I can watch entire movies perfectly fine, but mp3s cut out at random times. It's really a deal breaker for me. I can deal with the spotty file sharing updates, but once that updates, I really need to be able to play them.

Re: dns 323 and xbox 360 songs stop playing
Just wanted to add that I'm yet another person experiencing this exact same issue, so far without any resolution. I sent email to TwonkyVision support with the text below, we'll see if they respond:
When playing music, the music playback is frequently paused for greater than 20 seconds. During this time, the 360 is sometimes unavailable to respond to input. This problem may be related to the fact it's a wireless connection between my computer and the 360 (through a central router), because when I connect the computer via a direct ethernet cable to the 360 this problem doesn't occur. Also, my 360 interacts fine with this router, since I rarely experience any lag when playing games online. I keep my computer in my office and 360 in my family room, so a wireless setup is a must have here. I found this thread online which seems to echo my issue: http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3562 . Any thoughts?
Also, this issue doesn't seem to affect video playback, only music.

Re: dns 323 and xbox 360 songs stop playing
I just wanted to add that this happens to me as well.
I have the DNS-323 streaming to the Xbox360 over a wireless connection through a Linksys router. Movies will play all the way through without any issue but music stops randomly. It seems to be related to how twonky streams music through wireless though. I went out and bought a Ethernet over power kit and once I "hardwired" the 360 into the network the issue went away. I've tried messing around with the buffering settings to no avail.
Also, I ruled out my wireless being the problem by streaming music to the wireless 360 from my windows box via Windows Media Player which worked fine.
Twonky music streaming is buggy!

Thanks for the link, I visit that forum often but have never seen this thread. I will give it a try tonight when I get home. I was holding out on buying twonky until they fixed this issue but their support seems to ignore the forums and there is no way I am giving money to a company that doesn't want to support their product. Hopefully uShare works well.
Re: dns 323 and xbox 360 songs stop playing
I've had the music streaming issue, and it plagued me for quite some time. My setup for twonky was a standard PC, that was streaming music wirelessly using a linksys wireless card to my router, to which my XBOX 360 was wired. My desktop OS was linux (tried both Fedora and Ubuntu), with the same results... music would cut out after 1 -2 min. I was wrapping the windows xp drivers for my wireless card with ndiswrapper. So my solution to this problem was to do the following:
1) Uninstall the windows xp drivers for my wireless card.
2) Install the newest windows xp drivers for my wireless card.
3) Rebooted.
After a reboot using the newest drivers... everything streamed just fine. No more music cutting out, hope that helps someone else having a similar problem!
