dsm-510 Navigation Tree

Hi all.
Not sure if I am getting slow in my old age or perhaps it's not me at all.
Can someone give me an overview of the video navigation tree scheme for Twonky and a DSM-510.
I don't seem to get the concept (including the ABC option) and, it seems that no matter how I change it, it makes no difference in the "Server" nor "Video" menu on the DSM unit.
Would appreciate any help. The setup seems to work well but for this issue.
