Why can't I see photos on DSM-320?

I've been struggling with this for a while. I thought it was a D-Link issue, since I had used the Twonky media browser and could see all the photos with no problem. So, after a bunch of searching today, I found some threads that suggested the problem may be with the Twonky software. I downloaded the latest version of D-Link MediaServer and installed it, and lo and behold! I can see all my photos on my TV now! So - the problem MUST be in the TwonkyMedia Server side. I can see images where I've reduced the resolution to something like 200px/in, but I get an "file type is not supported" message when I try to view higher res images. Again, I can see those high-res images when I use D-Link Media Server, but canNOT see them with TwonkyMedia Server. My config: I am running TMS v5.0.61 on a WinXP/SP3 box, with a GBit network, using the wired interface on the D-Link instead of wireless. The DSM-320 is at firmware version 1.0.9 - the last update available.
