How did I sort it out...?I was running funplug (just for the telnet access) and twonky 4.4.1.8 - worked fine for a long time
Recently my Roku and Pure couldn't find my twonky server all of a sudden. Tried various things but decided to reinstall. Upgraded to 5.1.2 while I was at it.
It started rebuilding overnight and this morning I have two amber lights and no access...
Tried to uninstall twonky, but it returns an error of "can't find nas-uninstaller" or something.
Telnet doesn't seem to work (using putty).
D-link config page gives me an error (see attachment below)
I rebuilt one of the disks that lost sync a while back, and since then whenever I login to the config page it gives me the "hard drive configuration" / format drives page, which i've just been "skip"ing. Has been working fine. Perhaps someone can remind me the URL to get to the real config page without it redirecting to the format page (but that won't help me solve the problem probably), just make me feel better if I can see the status page...
Found this post, about database location on DNS-323 in 5.1.2, but can't telnet in to try it.
I'll state the obvious "its got lots of valuable things on it", like pics of my son's birth, that I really don't want to lose.
Any thoughts?
I'm going to try to put both drives in my PC and use the mobo RAID controller to see if I can see the data, but I don't think that's going to work due to D-link's RAID format.
Well, on a reboot I tried to uninstall Twonky again and it just so happened that I was getting impatient and early.
I tried to uninstall while the network was still initialising and it didn't do any good. However, when I retried (and crucially I guess at some point before Twonky had checked or restarted building its database) it managed to proceed and uninstall twonky... and all is well
So, i'm going to go and try the method linked above for changing the database location once i've reinstalled 5.1.2
But is this a bug that is likely to be fixed in a new release, as i'm sure users less savvy to me (and i'm a linux eeejit) would appreciate the configuration working on their DNS-323 out of the box
Cheers
