Samsung BD-C7900 not working

Post by migsutu » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:58 am

I have been trying to get my C7900 able to stream properly. At first, it wouldn't work at all(6 months ago), then Samsung did a firmware update and the device started working. I haven't used the device in a while, and when I powered it on, there was another new firmware update. Updated, and now it sits trying to load videos, saying after a while the format isn't supported.

My Samsung tv is able to stream fine, as are my PS3 and Xbox. I have tried various files, but the C7900 says the same thing everytime. I believe the C7900 is the same as the C6900, with the only different being and extra hdmi port. It looks like some people on are the forums here are having success with a C6900. I am wondering if there is something that needs to be specially set for the C7900/6900, or if its just poor firmware.

I have the same problem on my Samsung D5700. I currently have a QNAP with Twonky-Server 6.0.34.

I read on the web, that we need to do a remapping of the MIME Types (because the movies can played locally there are generally supported on the TV)

This is what I found:

<map from="mp2t" to="video/mpeg"/>
<map from="ts" to="video/mpeg"/>
<map from="mpg" to="video/mpeg"/>
<map from="avi" to="video/mpeg"/>
<map from="mkv" to="video/mpeg"/>

But I dont think, that it is supported to do such a action in Twonky-Server?!

PPl, recommend to switch to a other DNLA Software like MediaTomb

Possible that it is supported to do the remapping also in Twonky-Server?

or this is the mapping from PS3 Media Server

MimeTypesChanges=audio/wav=audio/L16|video/x-matroska=video/avi|video/x-flv=video/mp4|audio/mp3=audio/L16|video/mp4=video/mpeg
