WAV files to Xbox360

Post by paulrwebster » Thu Feb 09, 2006 1:23 pm

I have installed Twonky Media 3.1 and can stream MP3 files to my Xbox360 without problem.
I have tried ripping CD's into WAV format (using Winamp and Itunes). They play on my PC, however on the Xbox a red crossed-through circle is displayed when playing the tracks and no music is streamed.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this should be? I don't think that it is a copy protection issue as these are just CD's that I have ripped myself.

WAV files won't play on Xbox360

Well apparently this still doesn't work in 4.2. Would somebody care to comment on why this doesn't work? Is the XBOX 360 preventing playback of WAV files? If so, would it be possible to have a switch in the Twonky server config that would encode WAV files to mp3 or whatever on the fly when it plays them? I've got about 9000 songs (500+ CDs) ripped to WAV files but all I can play through the Twonky server is a few mp3 files I have :? . Oh, and yes I bought the Twonky server.
