Twonky 7.0.6 xml/nfo/tag metadata?

Post by scottfree1 » Sat Aug 02, 2014 8:00 pm

I've thrown the kitchen sink at it trying to get metadata to show with my Belkin F9K1102 which comes with Twonky 7.0.6 connecting via dlna from a dish hopper, with minidlna xmbc nfo files do the trick, but nothing seems to work with twonk, I've also tagged them directly KooRaRoo Media server which is one of the few mkv taggers I've found but I'm not positive it is tagging the file or writing to it's own database, here are the formats I've tried I'm I wasting my time here?

12 Angry Men.mkv
12 Angry Men.mkv.txt (Tivo)
12 Angry Men.mxml (mythtv mxml)
12 Angry Men.nfo (xmbc nfo)
12 Angry Men.TAG (netgear tag)
12 Angry Men.xml (wdtv xml)
12 Angry Men_mkv_JRSidecar.xml (jriver sidecar)
folder.jpg
mcm_id__tt0050083-389.dvdid.xml (Windows media Center)
movie.xml (aTV xml)
mymovies.xml (popcornhour xml)
12 Angry Men.jpg

Also folder.jpg does not seem to work but thumbnails for the actual files do?

twonky will only use metadata from certain file types, mostly mp4 id3 tags

sometimes folder.jpg, has to use a capitol F
also, are all movies in one folder or are the each in separate folders?

If you had these items with no embedded thumbnail in a folder
If you added a file called "folder.jpg" or "Folder.jpg" to it
then all three items would get that as the thumbnail

/test/test1.mkv.
/test/test2.mp4
/test/test3.avi
/test/Folder.jpg

If you added a jpg with the name of each exact file name,
then each appropriate item would get the thumbnail

/test/test1.mkv.
/test/test1.jpg
/test/test2.mp4
/test/test2.jpg
/test/test3.avi
/test/tes3.jpg
