connection between Allnet ALLSOUND WDAP & Twonkeymedia

Post by nicholp1 » Mon Aug 06, 2007 8:35 am

I have just purchased a Allnet ALLSOUND WDAP specifically to connect to my home setup running on a Twonkeymedia server 4.4.

I specifically chose the Allnet unit as it was listed as compatible on the Twonkeyvision site (the device was marked with *. That means that Twonkeymedia did not test the device themselves, but users reported that they work with TwonkyMedia)

http://www.twonkyvision.de/Products/Two ... vices.html

I have been using the Twonky server 4.4 with a Netgear MP101 for some time with no problems whatsoever. I have just purchased a Allnet ALLSOUND WDAP. I now have some problems with the the ALLSOUND and the Twonky server.

I have "Enable sharing for new clients automatically" switched on. The Allnet ALLSOUND WDAP will see the Twonky media server on start up and connects perfectly.

I am then able to select the album song and play them. After a period of around 10 minuets the Allnet ALLSOUND WDAP is no longer able to see the media player server however it is till obviously connected as it is still able to play the selected album and will remain able to do so.

The only way I have found around this is to reset the client table which subsequently the restart the server. Having said this simple restarting the server from the Troubleshooting menu will allow the Allnet ALLSOUND WDAP to connect.

I have change the upnptimeout value to 36000 which gives me about 40 min before the server disappears. Twonky support think that the device just can not handle UPnP adverts. ( See Below)

Any ideas where to go from here? Does anyone have the device actually working properly if so how?

Hi,

sorry - but this shows that the device just can not handle UPnP adverts.

You can only set the number higher (to a day or so).
