Playstation 3: play music via "remote"

Post by scopero » Fri Nov 30, 2007 6:29 am

Hi all,
I have Twonky 4.4 on a PC, and my Ps3 connected via DLNA. Everything works just nice.
However, I am looking now into a way to start play / change my music remotely either from my PC or my Nokia N95, which has a kind of "play via Home network" function. I don't want to switch on my plasma screen every time I want to play some music. Any idea if this works together with the PS3? Can I initiate to play music via the PC? Any info would be helpful.
Cheers!

If you have a PSP that might be able to do it, but don't askme how.

PS3 does not (at least at pre 2.x firmware) allow remote controlling via UPnP. Sorry.

Also worth noting is that most units seems to interpret this function differently. Specs allow for lots for leeway, developer "ingenuity" allows for even more :(
