xbox 360 and twonky on qnap 209

For about 8 hours I have been trying to get the xbox 360 to see the twonky...but it just won't.

The xbox 360 is connected to the same wired network as my qnap 209 nas and a ps3 and a vista premium pc.

The ps3 sees twonky fine. Xbox sees the media center on vista fine.

I ensure that I have the ip address of the xbox 360 added to the user section of the twonky on the qnap.

but for some reason...no matter what I do, the xbox 360 will not find the twonky. I go to the computer tab in the xobox ...try to select other sources for media...but it just won't find the Twonky (but it always sees the vista mce.)

Any suggestions?

the ps3's find it fine...

also...using the latest xbox firmware.

Yeah, I know the feeling.

When running 4.2 Twonky the 360 could see Twonky but errored when trying to browse the server.

Now have 4.4.2 and my 360 can't find the Twonky server at all.

Is it me, or does Twonky not provide any documentation to connect to its popular clients?

The X-Box 360 isn't fully uPnP compatible. With each automatic update of the XBOX360 I encountered more problems. I haven't had problems with connecting yet, but it takes ages to scroll to my database and the artists show up three or four times.
So I bought a real player last week. A conceptronic C54WMP. No problems at all. That thing plays wonderfull. Also video, and pictures.

The twonky media server can NOT always tell whether it's connected to a PC or an Xbox and it needs to manually be set to xbox. That's why many users experience problems that sometimes connects to the xbox and sometimes not. Disabling the auto detection on twonky does the trick.

The problem is solved as follows:

*install twonky 4.3
*install twonky admin 4.2 on Lacie (widely available on the web)
*On Lacie ip addresss:9000 (for example 192.168.0.6:9000), check the network settings as follows: is the IP address of the xbox recognized as xbox? If not then switch it to xbox.
*disable automatic detection on the admin page.
*save the settings
*Lock the xbox to its ip address on the dhcp server/router ;)
*reboot both

voila, solid connection

Also internet radio, internet tv both work on xbox, served by the twonky server on Lacie but the twonky documentation is very poor or non-existent.

Mine stopped working and I tried everything.

Then turned out my clock was out of date on the server hosting twonky.

Xbox picks it up straight away now. Phew!

Another fix!! = p

Does the yearly Xbox Live charge cover everything or is there also a separate charge for downloads? Say I get a one year subscription to Xbox Live and I want to download an Xbox Live Arcade game. Is the cost covered by the yearly charge or do I have to pay separately for the game?

Is it possible to use 2 Xbox 360 consoles through a router to log onto Xbox live? I have tried to connect 2 xbox 360 consoles through my router to get on Xbox live, but only one of them can get on. The other one has its DNS test fail on me even though the IP test passes. Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?
