MPEG2 with AC3 on PS3

Hallo Twonky Users,
is there anybody out there who is able to stream MPEG2 video (VOB) with AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio on PS3?
I'd like to buy a PS3 but this issue is a killer for my buying decision.

answer.
Just to be sure: The AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio track is also forwarded via optical digital out to the Dolby Digial receiver. The reason I insist on this topic is that I read somewhere that the PS3 plays AC3 but only sends Stereo to the Dolby Digital receiver.

The older firmware wouldn't play 5.1 audio from the XBM but now it does.
