Can I install TwonkyMedia on my NAS ?

Hi,
I purchased a generic NAS enclosure from e-bay a little while ago, and have it set-up using a 250GB IDE HDD. I'd now like to set-up a uPNP server on it so I can stream music to a Freecom MusicPal, but it doesn't support currently uPNP.
The Twonky NAS installation downloads all appear to be for specific make and models. Is there anyway I find out if I am able to install Twonky Media on my (generic) NAS ?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Mark.

Can you describe the NAS box at all? Maybe post a link to the eBay auction? There are rather a lot out there, and it's hard to answer the question otherwise.
FWIW, I run generic "Dual HDD NAS" boxes; actually made by MRT. If yours is one of these, check out
here for 'tinky-ls' firmware, which includes Twonky.

This is the same NAS enclosure as I have. It's actually made by Venus apparently, so not quite as generic as I thought
Don't know if this helps any though.
Cheers,
Mark.

Hm...
this page implies that at least one Venus enclosure might be based on a RDC2882 chipset I guess you'll need to open it up and have a squint at the chips.. Once you know the actual chipset, it may be possible to find a compatible firmware or application package, or even to build it specifically for this.

Well I'll pop the lid open and see what I can find out...
Cheers again for the help.

Well I've opened the case, and there is one big black thingy with FUN-JIN FT16-802 BG 0717 written on it. There is also a smaller black thingy with CM2596G - 059447 - 500546GK.
That's all I can see, so I don't know if that tells us anything ?
Cheers,
Mark,

I'm truggling with this too.
I run the setup program, (on vista quad core).
But although the setup program "sees" the NAS, i doesn't see any folder to install it to.
I connected the NAS to pc via USB and created a folder there to install to.
Do i install Twonky to NAS via usb/pc or NAS
What should the file structure be?
