QNAP TS109 - Advanced Setup not saved after server restart.

Post by ejdv » Sun Mar 30, 2008 12:53 pm

Hi,

My problem is that with the official TS-109 version 1.1.5 the items under Advanced Setup (like Naming, Music Tree, Video Tree and Picture tree) are not saved.
Well, actually they are saved in the twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini file, but after the media server restart the settings are gone again.
Only the items in the Basic Configuration are restart proof (although not all of them).

When I click Save Changes I see that the ini files contains my changes, but then after I click Restart Server, the ini file is changed back again.

From other posts I get it that the Twonky version used is known to have problems.
TwonkyVision 4.4.4 RC1 is used in Version 1.1.5 build 0128.

Then I loaded Version 2.0.1 build 0324T, which contains TwonkyVision 4.4.4, and I still have the same problems.
Most of the Basic Setup items are saved and restart proof (not all), but the Advanced Setup items are not saved after the media server restarts.

I tried deleting the ini file, restarting, editting, restarting, but still no luck.
Very annoying.

Does anybody has the same problem, not necessarily related to the QNAP NAS ??

From other forum:

"If you want to make changes to Music/Video/Photo tree nodes, you have to choose the "Custom" navigation tree. In this mode, node changes are saved."

This works. Glad to know.
