N95 and Simple Center vs N95 and Twonky

Post by murfett-au » Thu May 01, 2008 4:55 am

Has anyone worked out the difference between Simple Center and Twonky? I can get my N95 to stream songs from Simple Center, but not from my Twonky Server.

Simple Centre is what Nokia tell you to install on a PC to play songs directly on your N95, and it works. WHen using Twonky, I can only manage to copy tracks across to my N95, or use the N95 as a uPNP control point to instruct a uPNP renderer to play a song off the Twonky server.

Has anyone got their Nokia N95 streaming off Twonky? Any plans to get the Simple Center functionality?

I have the opposite problem. I can get my N96 to stream ok, but I can't copy reliably - when I ask it to copy an album (over the uPNP connection) to the N96 it manages about 2-4 tracks before the copy fails. What I need to figure out is whether this is an N96 issue or a twonky issue.

I am running twonky server 4.4.4 on a Qnap 209

Does anyone know which version of Twonky added support for Nokia phones?
